I'm feeling an electric shock sensation along with some pain on my wrists when doing push ups, full bridges, bench presses and such.

I'm feeling an electric shock sensation along with some pain on my wrists when doing push ups, full bridges, bench presses and such. Would stretching solve this?

Bro that's carpal tunnel. Go to a doctor.

Carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms usually affect the thumb and index (pointer) finger, and sometimes also the middle and/or ring fingers. The sensation may feel like a pulse of electric shock, and the pain may reach and radiate into the arms.

      https://www.intercoastalmedical.com/2020/06/25/causes-of-carpal-tunnel-syndrome/

      Yeah, you are fricked.

Could I develop it that quickly? I've never had these before, only after I began doing bodyweight stuff. Also it only happens when I pull my hand back and put weight on it (as in push ups)

        >Could I develop it that quickly?
Depending on the cause, yes. Also it starts with minor tingling and numbness, most people don't even notice it until it starts hurting.

I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. That’s what it feels like. You should seek out a physical therapist or a doc immediately. Don’t strain it any further, do exercises that don’t cause it. Face pulls might help, some light stretching might help, too much stretching will frick you further. Best of luck! WAGMI

Did you need surgery? Can you do bench presses and similar stuff?

No surgery, just PT so far. No bench press since I’m still recovering and working around it but I can OHP on machines now. PT really works wonders and I didn’t like the idea to get surgery.

Yes stretching shoulders, pecs, and forearms but also strengthening them carefully. Lots of front raises and face pulls and rows. Massages and that sort of stuff as well.

Massaging at home every 2-3 days is very beneficial as well

one thing that really helped me is that I started using one of those wrist compression sleeves while sleeping so it holds it in a neutral position unmoving for a full 7-8 hours a day, if I forget to use them my wrist already feels a bit fricked when I wake up when usually I just start feeling the discomfort late at night when its close to sleep time
before I started using it I was getting frequent sharp pains while doing simple stuff like cutting carrots, those are very rare nowadays
other things I also do is that I use a vertical mouse, I autohotkeyed my clicks onto my keyboard so all I have to do with my mouse hand is to lightly drag it, never gripping it and lastly I use my computer standing up though I dont know if this last one helped at all my wrists

That won't matter. The problem comes from repeatedly flexing your fingers and engaging your wrist and forearm muscles for long stretches of time, which causes inflammation in the joints and compresses your nerves.

I don't play games anymore, but I do sit in front of a computer 8 hours a day for work. What could I do to improve my hand posture?

I don't feel numbness either. In fact, when I tried to replicate it right now by pulling my hand back I couldn't feel it

The best you can do is take frequent micro breaks. Every 15 minutes, get up and stretch. Repetitive use injuries are really hard to manage once you've acquired them.

        >I do sit in front of a computer 8 hours a day for work.
get up every 30-60 minutes to refill a glass of water, and piss when needed
look out the window or at something 20+ feet away during that
kills 3 birds with one stone
do some arm/shoulder/etc stretches while walking to the water fountain for optics, and actual health benefits too

sounds like you're overstressing it, go low and slow and talk to a physio with a clue, ask the gays over at r/bodyweightfitness etc
but for now fall back to nothing that triggers it and start learning about physiotherapy in your problem area

I get eye strain sometimes so that would help as well. The problem is I become so focused sometimes that I forget everything else, I'll go about setting some timers.

          >sounds like you're overstressing it
I began practicing judo recently so that could be it

Yes stretching shoulders, pecs, and forearms but also strengthening them carefully. Lots of front raises and face pulls and rows. Massages and that sort of stuff as well.

          What kind of massages?

Do some 180 forearm rotations with light dumbbells and finger curls with a bit heavier dumbbell or the same and squeeze hard and roll the weights down slow. Maybe even some Wrist curls would be decent to add. Also strengthen your thumb rotation with following exercise in pic related:

Fingers pressing against each other using your wrists, roll the thumbs around inside and outside 5x.

Another exercise to strengthen fingers (which will strengthen the wrist etc) is what I call the Finger Scissor Isometric Hold, use matched pairs of fingers and have them in V shape, try to hold them from closing with the resisting pair (the ones on the "inside") by pressing away and resist that force by pressing inside slightly with less force so you still feel tension. Do this for all fingers on both hands about 5 times, abort if you feel sharp pains. The location where to press/push away should be the tip joint of the finger.

Do you have a video or illustration showing these exercises? It's way easier for me to understand

same here, do set those timers
            >started judo recently
yeah that probably adds to it, give your body time and fuel (food, sleep, less stress - both physical and mental) to recover and you'll be alright, op
