I'm just not making progress bros.

I'm just not making progress bros. This Is the first time I've been properly going to the gym (past 2 1/2 months) and I just don't feel like I'm getting anywhere. My physique hasn't changed, I can lift more than when I started but it's still only minimal progress (for example I could only bench like 35kg, now I'm doing 3 sets of 50kg). But I don't feel much different, if anything I think I've put on weight. I'm a 75kg and 5'6, the workout I've been doing is Arnie's golden 6. So benchpress, sit ups, press ups, barbell curls, overhead press and weighted squats. What am I doing wrong bros?

Gains are slow, especially if you aren't matching diet to your goals. Cut/bulk shows results faster and more tangibly, but even then it's a slow process of months and months, over and over. Exercise is a lifestyle change, not just a fad hobby. If you want to have fun with it, I recommend getting into sports or martial arts. Fitting a workout routine around performance rather than aesthetic nets faster and more tangible gains. It's easier to see yourself getting marginally better at boxing than it is to notice your chest beef up a quarter of an inch.

No, they're a race. Unless you mean the photon cannon, in which case it's a structure within the Protoss race. Photon cannons can be extremely strong early and late game, but not as much mid game because they Protoss player must be economically efficient as possible in order to survive into the late game, especially against oppressive matchups such as PvT(Protoss versus Terran). Early game it can be extremely powerful against Zerg, as cannon rushing successfully can be game ending if the opponent fails to defend.

Haven't kept up with the SC2 meta but when I left PvP had a higher success rate of cannon rushing than PvZ. Also FFE seems to have died out in favor of gate expands in 2 although you still see both in Brood War

Your first few weeks of training will mostly be CNS adaptation as your body optimizes itself for the kind of movements you are doing. This is why if you pick up a new accessory you will rapidly progress on it for your first few workouts with it. As for growth, it will come more slowly. Continue to eat your protein and lift heavier weights and eventually the gains will come

35 to 50 kg is great progress for a beginner. You might not show it on your body yet but it's obvious that you're much stronger than you used to be. Keep at it for a year for it to become a habit and next summer (if not this winter) will be amazing.

      lol
maybe 10% of gymrats care about strength, everybody wants the aesthetic rather than meaningless strength gains

I lift for one of the slots I rotate into the lineup.
b***h weighs 185lbs, but still has this something about her that makes me diamonds.
I want to be able to throw her around the house like I do my lighter female frens.
I'm not there yet, a d she's a fricking pita to move around.

    >What am I doing wrong?
your expectations are whats wrong. you are doing great but want results faster. you are upset with the passing of time. you need to remember that gains are a pursuit of discipline and consistency over time. some dudes have been lifting for more than ten years, and they will show for it. just dont be a person who does it for a little bit on and off, never realizing what you could achieve. just stop yourself from overthinking all of this, put your head down, and continue to put in the reps, sets, and hours that are required and you will make it. just keep going.

i cant tell really from your post, but it seems like you want to lose weight? maybe incorporate cardio like a rowing machine or jumprope or jogging into your routine. hows your eating? are you tracking it with myfitnesspal? how are your macros? type out your goals and watch some youtubers like mike israetel to maybe find ways to help you achieve your goals. just dont stop from getting disheartened, there WILL be days you feel like shit but you dont give up

Yeah I want to get leaner for sure and build a bit more muscle. I don't care about being the most swole guy in the room. if my abs, chest and arms got more definition instead of being soft. Why am I soft in the middle, when the rest of my life is so hard?

Sorry, yeah my diet probably isn't being kept on top of properly. I don't eat poorly by any means (barely any fizzy drinks unless they're zero, don't snack much etc) , but I don't think I eat enough protein tbh.

How often are you lifting per week and do you take days off to rest and recover?

Monday Wednesday Friday I lift, Saturday or Sunday I do my cardio

        Anonymous

Reduce your lifts to twice a week and cardio once a week. You have to rest and recover for your muscles to grow and get stronger.

    from most important to less.
    >sleep
make sure you are getting good quality sleep and plenty hours.
    >diet
make sure you get enough quality protein. at the very least 150g, higher wouldn't be bad either.
    >workout
maybe do a hypertrophy program rather than a low volume routine made by an elite athlete on roids? something like PPL perhaps.

That's just how it is, man. A beginners strength gains for around 3 months are largely in the CNS before they're in muscle mass, as their body learns to recruit more and more musculature in lifting.
Don't worry too much, the important thing for a new lifter is consistency, just keep going to the gym and adding weight when you can and eventually you'll notice that yeah, you've got muscles.
