Im officially blackpilled

Spent the last 8 months bulking cutting and have basically made 0 progress. Ive been lifting for years and pretty much have barely gained any muscle since years ago. Ive powerlifted, done bodybuilding style training, maingained, bulked and cut, optimized sleep, pushed failure, left some in the tank. Tried every damn facet of training methodology and still, nothing makes me grow. Its demoralizing watching people i know sleep 4 hours and make kore gains while i dedicate time meal prepping and optimizing my diet/recovery/training. Ive tried to train dumb and smart and feel like my body fights against gaining any muscle.

      They did but only back to precut levels. Bench 245
      RDL 225 for 5
      Last squat was 275 for 5
      Last OHP was 135 for 10
      Rest of my routine i recently switched to trying out some machines. Using hack squats, incline hammer strength machine etc.

      Used to do all the big powerlifts but saw basically zero change in my physique and started getting nagging injuries.

        Aside from the bench these are numbers 16 year olds put up within four months of lifting. What are you doing? You need to progressively overload the weight. You can't be this weak after years of lifting. It's not your body - no male has this as their limit unless they have cancer - so the issue lies elsewhere and it's a controllable factor. Your complete inability to gain strength suggests that you're also doing shit that prevents you from gaining muscle (which also would be easier if you actually had some strength).

        You talk a lot about perfect this, perfect that in your post. "Perfect optimized diet", "tried all methodologies", "optimized sleep", "optimized recovery", "max effort", but one or more of those things that you think you have solved is definitely not okay. We need actual information - we can't trust you when you say that it's all good. If you want help we need to see what your diet is actually like. We need training logs. We need to actually know the routine you did during these 8 months. Ideally we get videos of your technique on these lifts and see "max effort" looks like, because you complain about injuries.

    To look good? You do, just do more core work and lower weight slightly til you have visible abs.

    Want to get big? Eat more, don't cut for a while.

    Want to be Arnold? You have to roid. Can you look better than this natty? Probably a bit better, but not much. And what for? You wint pull more girls with 3 mire pounds of lean muscle.       Thanks man, yeah im just working on my core now. Feel like i have size to gain there for sure so im bulking out the rest of the year lean bulk style. Just going to try and milk out the rest of this bulk and cut down. And yeah i agree my legs are larger so im not super concerned with them i do machines mostly for legs now and doesnt seem theyve lost size at all i just need my upper body to catch up.

      How much muscle can you build in a month- naturally? How much fat can you lose in a month? What happens to your metabolism when you're in a caloric deficit for long periods of time?
      If you're not an imbecile and you can answer these questions, you'll come to the conclusion that bulks should be long and steady, and cuts should be brief with breaks every couple of months for refeeding.

    Ok things I've done to speed up my chest and back growth (I'm a limb dominant homie)
    >long length partials with dumbbell pressing
    >long length partials with lat raises
    >long length partials with pull ups
    >short length partials with lots of weight for biceps
    >short length partials with a lot of weight for ohp
    >short length partials with a lot of weight for narrow (important that is narrow) grip dips

    this has helped me grow a lot more than the stuff I did before, not sure what's up with it but you can try it out if there's nothing else that you havent tried

    You are just moronic, you grow via progressive overload. If you're not putting extra weight on the exercises that you're doing while bulking you're just getting fat and if you're losing all the gains you got while cutting you're just getting skinny. An increase in calories is meant to enable you to train harder, it won't do shit if you don't add weight on the bar. Likewise if while you're cutting you notice you're losing a lot of your strength then it means you're fricking something up, either cutting too aggressively, or you're being a pussy and not training hard enough because you feel like shit since you're cutting.

    8 months isn't enough time to bulk let alone bulk and cut. A bulk lasts for one year minimum but ideally around 2-3 years. It's a very slow process during which you can expect to gain a decent amount of muscle and quite a bit of fat by the end of it. If you are afraid of losing your abs or getting a little fluffy then you will never make it past the noob stage.

    OP here, i forgot i made this thread but just saw it on catalog. To those saying my numbers suck dick, i dont disagree but my squat and RDL are indeed pitiful but honestly im okay with my leg size for now. I have had herniated discs and knee tendinitis so ill take what i can get there. Im really trying to build my upper body now at this point, considering my pitiful chest and arms. In that effort i have been hitting more machines and really trying to gas out. I do weighted chins with 60 pounds usually, and have seen pretty decent back growth. My arms and chest have been poverty though, and have been hard stalled at 245-250 bench for a while. Is there any routines yall did or strategies to grow your upper body specifically arms and chest? Currently doing an upper/lower and hit arms additionally on saturday.

      I was thinking of switching my diet to something heavier in meat. I usually hit 160grams a day but I just enjoy eating meat more. I dont drink really or eat much “processed” sugar. Either way i could stand to be more dilligent with my diet and consume more meat.

      Diet, at the moment doing a small surplus bulk to gain .5lb per week. Diet consists of basically
      Rice, meat, veggie for every meal. Only other thing i consume is like chipotle. I drink coffee and tea. 20 grams of cashews daily. Getting 160 grams of protein a day, 70g fats about and the rest carbs.

      Routine is as follows roughly(rep ranges can vary with effort):
      Upper
      Bench press 3x8
      Pullups 3x8
      Inc machine press 3x10
      Machine row 3x10
      Preacher curl 3x8
      Tricep overhead ext 3x8
      Lateral raise 3x10
      Rear delt flye 3x10

      Lower
      Squat variation(hacks or smith squat) 3x8
      Rdl or back ext 3x8
      Leg press 3x10
      Calves 3x10
      Leg curl 3x8-12
      Leg ext 3x8-12
      Weighted crunch 4x10

      I repeat them again and usually will swap exercises position to hit incline first on thursday for example.

      Then on saturday i do an arms day where i will just do an additional 4 sets per triceps, biceps, lateral raise and rear delts. I track all of my performances in my notes and attempt pushing more reps etc or adding weight.

        Anyway you're obviously overtraining and not giving enough time for growth/recovery. 4-5 times a week & that extremely high volume of sets is way too much. Less is more in this case. Less sets and frequency, more full out high intensity heavy duty to failure. YouTube and listen to Mike Mentzer and come back in a few months. He'll explain it much better. You're welcome. Never say you've tried everything until you've tried everything.

    You look great already, it seems like you could cut some more but otherwise you really don't need more muscle mass unless you care about impressing subhuman roided thumbs or chasing a bigger 1RM to boost your fragile ego

    Maybe try eating more (lean protein ofc) and changing up your technique to include a wider ROM and bigger focus on controlled eccentrics. And drop the powerlifter homosexualry, all that will do is get you injured
