I’m trying to incorporate more vegetables into my diet but since I don’t have much free time I decided that frozen veges would be the way to go because they don’t take too long to prep. What should I be looking for, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, peas, what else?

How can something so simple look so comfy

Will have more comfy tomorrow. We're at my wife's grandma's place for the next few days and she's a bit inaka (hence the farm). No JKs around here sadly. You'll have to wait for our next hotel stay for that most likely. We might head back to a city in the next day or two

The town I grew up in looks a lot like this and it's honestly not a very comfy place.

where are you getting that bro?

Frozen spinach is amazing. You can get it at Aldi for under $1 AUD, and Woolworths is probably similar.
It comes in little ice cube shapes, so you just drop one into anything you're cooking (anything from a stew to instant noodles to scrambled eggs) and it adds some nice easy vegetables.

Frozen mashed potato is also amazing. From Aldi too. Personally I mostly go for the sweet potato chips because they're arguably a bit healthier. They also have nice frozen broccoli and cauliflower bakes, but they have a fair bit of bechamel sauce so they aren't plain vegetables.

You're probably seeing a trend here: frozen vegetables are great. You can keep them in the fridge indefinitely, they're easy to portion and they taste great. Just try out different things.

      >mash potato in a microwave bag
Why does such a thing even exist? You put 3 potatoes on a plate, microwave for 4-5 minutes, mash, add salt and butter, microwave another 4-5 minutes. It takes 30s preparation.

It's actually much nicer. Real mashed potato takes quite a bit of effort, and your method doesn't lead to as nice of a result.

Oh also, it's very easy to calculate portion sizes because it comes in little cubes.

if the peas/corn/carrots are frozen in solid chunks, avoid. It means the veggies thawed and then refroze at some point. Not good.

Buckwheat with frozen veggies from a bag. No spices or herbs?

Just some salt and pepper. I like the taste of buckwheat as it is.
