I'm unironically addicted to cocaine and it is completely sabotaging my gains. Any anons have some tips on how to beat this demon? One is to not drink alcohol, as that triggers my desire to buy blow, but I'd love to be able to have a drink and not immediately call a dealer.

Went to an AA meeting once and it felt to cultish, think i mainly need to avoid drinking for the next 3 months to give my brain ample time to reset, seeing as how I only buy blow when I drink.

        >Went to an AA meeting once and it felt to cultish,

I asked myself the question, is AA a Cult?

By the defintion of what a cult is and how it behaves, AA is NOT a cult.

Reasons that it is not a Cult.

no narsacistic central leader that want's control, reverence. Maybe at sponsor level a controlling figure, but that is your choice to make. no central icon figure.

doesn't shut down critical thinking and have the leader think for you
no signing anything that you waive your rights
don't make you cut ties with family
don't harrass you if you leave, not malevolant

No written file created and stored about you

not trying to make everyone else a clone of the leader
not trying to get you to cut contact or recruit family members
AA formed before scientology 30's compared to 50'scientology 1935 and 1954
there is financial transparency at a group & intergroup level

Don't get you to bring your children in

could get a malevolant sponser, but you choose them and could make a malevolant friend outside of AA
Bill and Bob central leaders, now both dead with no obvious successor
        Can you say No!?

aa is stupid religious bullshit, as if God can help you overcome your chemical addiction.
and yes t's a cult because it's based around religioun

Fair enough. I'm not going to argue on this shitty forum. Walk your own paths, but try not to get close to the edge.

I also really was turned off by the Higher Power / religious bend of some AA groups.

There are agnostic and atheist groups based on AA / 12 step type programs. There are other approaches.

            >Crom is my Higher Power
            >Crom advised me to crush my enemies, etc.

Read Infinite Jest. It's not even about religion per se, so much as forming a rigid structure of thinking that is at the end of the day a totalist bent against relapse.

Cover your drug addiction with what again?

I was addicted to cocaine when I was younger. You have to get away from the people places and things that you associate cocaine with. Change your phone number, don't hang out in the same spots with the same people, delete and cut off contact with your connections and others that use. If you don't do this you'll never quit unless you get arrested or die.

This also quit fricking now op. Coke addiction is no fricking joke, it makes you so reckless and a complete nut case even when you come off. It’s a shit drug and expensive. If you want to do uppers just get an adderall prescription. Unironically way better for you than doing fricking blow all the time.

Although considering you already have a problem you should just suck it up and get sober for awhile. Like at least a year. Totally sober. No drinking no weed no mind altering substances. I did this when I started abusing Xanax and coke and it completely turned my life around.

I was in the same shoes my man, in fact when I'm drunk I still get overwhelming urges and at this point in my life coke is like smoking (which I also quit), it's just a random craving I get like a candy bar or something.

The thing that got me to stop using consistently was the way I framed it in my mind, I treat it like a cigar where I can plow through some lines a couple times a year during a good party but constant use just makes it more dull, like a compulsion that sucks out all the fun and turns you from fun 80's guy to skinny twink loser. We're grown men, we deserve to have a good time on our terms but becoming a weak slave to this shit is fricking sad. Just pound through a pot or 2 of coffee everyday like I do to satisfy the NEED for SPEED.

Fricking A man, made a promie to my best friend that we keep coke use to a once a month thing att most, but I've really fallen of the deep end. At this point I don't even gain that much pleasure from it, it's like you said a craving, in the same light as nicotine.

I fricked around with it a bit in my 20s but then did so much one night I had paranoid delusions, thinking I accidentally gave my friends cat coke and that it was seizing and dying meanwhile it was literally taking a cat nap

So hopefully you're being serious. I had a similar problem a few years ago. Wrecked my life. Spent more than double my monthly income. Honestly the only strategy that worked for me was this and variants of this.

So initially i would go through friends, friends would buy an oz and sell grams etc. Then eventually i met their plugs and could go off them too. One of their lower level plugs ran a gas station on the way to and from where i would buy loose cigarettes.

Eventually i started begging my friends and the gas station dude to stop selling to me as i was wrecking my life. After a while friends stuck to it, and then the gas station dude didnt. So one of my other friends went and started making threats to him saying not to sell to me. And eventually i had no means to get it left.

I was for the most part cured of most of the cravings/fiending within a month. I did get a bad junk food habit during that time. Drinking triggered me to so i couldnt but now adays i can with no urge. But even after a year sober someone offering me while i was drunk would definately cause cravings. So you gotta watch out for that one but eventually you will have good will power with time.

Wish you luck bro. God bless you. Its tough man, i was a weak willed pussy who had to literally not be able to get it any more. But i works

You should've seen me last year when I was taking every drug under the sun, I turned into s complete monster and was barely recognizeable. Almost got fired due to how absent I was from work. Periods of high stress has a tendency to push me over the edge completely. Fantastic that you managed to beat your demons, hope I can as well before I completely hit rock bottom. I have ADHD too so I've always fallen pray incredibly easily to CNS stimulants. Started drinking coffee as early as 11.

ADHD makes you more susceptible to stimulants? I’m basically catatonic most of the time I love stims

Yeah adhd is thought to be caused by dopamine deficiency, so it tends to make you seek out dopaminergic drugs which are all generally uppers. They work by blocking your dopamine receptors which causes dopamine to pool up which causes the euphoria.

    1) Delete all the numbers, text/messaging threads and call history of your dealers.
    2) Tell your friends to not give you numbers for dealers if you ask.
    3) Stop putting stupid powder in your face.
