10k steps is a boomer fitness goal.
If you're able bodied why not just focus on lifts

This it's a meme. Studies show that more steps/day = better health outcomes because these studies are done on the average American, who is a pitiful obese dyel middle-aged creature.

Walking is something you should be doing in general, yes. There are some random health benefits to the activity pattern: it seems to activate parts of the brain in a way that alleviates anxiety and improves mood which is different than other types of exercise. It also has some slight cognitive performance boosting, again different than other exercise when you control for that. It is great for blood flow and lymphatic flow as the rhythmic pattern promotes lymph and venous return. BUT this does not mean that you need an arbitrary 10k goal. Walking is a very fundamentally human activity and I train it because I'm autistic. I do this with hiking, which is actual exercise. 1 hike/week. Plus 10-15 minutes on a treadmill at max Incline a few times a week to work calves. This is how you train calves. If you're not trying to be a mountain man you simply go for a few walks a week and stand a bunch and don't worry about counting.

not an excuse you lazy homosexual, why do you spend the other 8 hours that you're awake sitting on your ass or standing still? Also I bet you have many chances to get up and take a few steps during work

This is actually baffling. Take a walk, get a treadmill or something.

Ever heard of working a desk job? moron

As the other anon said: get your ass moving during the other hours of the day, my friend. You can always find an excuse to be inactive or you can make it a priority in your life. God bless you, son.

Get yourself a walking pad. It's a treadmill without the guard rails.

I also work from home and have my computer hooked up to 4 monitors. 2 screens are located at a desk I can sit down at, and the other two are located on top of a standing desk with a walking pad underneath.

I spend 6 hours just walking on the walking pad whilst working, watching videos, playing games, etc.It becomes very automatic after a while, you'll just walk on autopilot and not realize you are even doing it. I get 30,000 steps daily on average.

From my experience step counting is a meme and only fatties do it, if I want cardio I just run a few miles. I am however genuinely interested if any of the lads in this thread that do step count if they want to post body, moving is always better than being sedentary so I’m happy people are at least walking.

i burn something someting 400 cals in 10k steps so I litearlly only have to eat -600 during a cut. Doing 800cals from a bikeride to thats -1400 and it stops me from being hungry. To not 10k is trolling tbh, at least 7500, when I was fat as frick I would get sub 3k tho lmao. (Exactly like you said, my body isn't ready to be posted however so I proved your point)

Good on you lad I wish you the best on making it, nothing wrong with walking and it does seem to burn a good amount of calories if your right. Hope to see you fit enough to post body here soon

Step counter here. Just helps to know how much you are moving so you can have some idea of the amount of energy you’re expending and plan calories or a workout accordingly

Based Im miring lad, so not only fatties count steps. The principal makes complete sense to me, I just feel like a lot of people use it to cope for poor lifestyle habits, you obviously use it well.

Walked to get groceries from asian grocery store ~20 min each way, around 7.5k steps by dinner. From 8:30-9:45pm run down to local park 5 blocks away and run around it, run up some stairs and walk home = 12 000 steps for the day.
    t. not American so walking is normal
