Is alcohol killing my gains?
I drink between 200-300 ml of vodka every night, I've heard that alcohol inhibits muscle protein synthesis but I'm not sure at what point that happens, as long as I get good sleep and my protein for the day am I good?

You drink ¼ to ½ a bottle of liquor every day? Get help.
An entire bottle is 1 liter. I drink maybe 1/4, I don't even get drunk lol
Sounds like you have a tolerance you idiot. Your liver doesn't give a shit if you're getting drunk or not. Stop.
Not ideal but you should be fine. I used to drink 750ml of vodka every day and it didn't seem to affect my gains much.
Ignore the other anon telling you a bottle a day won't hurt your gains, take it from me. I used to drink heavier than you and you have no idea how bad it affects your gains until you quit. My training was worse, my sleep was awful, my recovery was shit, and I got injured way more often. Go the week cold turkey, you can have some saturday night if you want. If it gets to Saturday and you're feeling better, though, try another week. Then another. You'll feel more alert and alive. After 1 month, your body will have repaired almost all the liver damage you've caused, so it's worth doing a month or two sober every few years even if you keep drinking overall.
Remember: Quit and you'll have the greatest mornings of your life, but the worst nights. Start going to bed early to combat cravings/boredom. Early to bed early to rise will also start improving your sleep quality and productivity. It's a domino effect, you'll start seeing benefits you didn't even think were related to drinking. You owe it to yourself to give it a try at the very least. One month. Then decide.
I actually started drinking liquor after I was already training in the gym for like 9 months so I have some perspective of how I felt before. And the thing is as far as I can tell I don't have any problems sleeping, haven't seen any difference in recovery. Since gains are slow anyway I can't tell if the alcohol has any effect on that yet which is what my question relates to. So far all I have are positives so I don't see any reason in quitting.
I see
Everything gives you cancer nowadays so who gives a frick
Some things give you cancer more than others and alcohol REALLY gives you cancer.
Cancer is a shitty way to die.
>Some things give you cancer more than others and alcohol REALLY gives you cancer.
How.. what kind of cancer. wtf are you talking about.
Alcohol affects protein synthesis meaingfully when you're binge drinking. If you were drinking that whole bottle every night, yeah it would frick with your gains, but at that point you've got much bigger problems to deal with than your muscles.
200-300ml is, you know, you should cut back a little at least on weekdays, but also it's not really not a huge problem for your gains.
Frick your gains, any amount of ethanol is carcinogenic so you're fricking your life.
Fricks your sleep and completely inhibits protien synthesis while draining glycogen out of your liver.
300ml is like 6 drinks, dude why?
Feels good
Alcohol makes every aspect of life worse, outside of temporarily confidence in social situations
Doesn’t help but it isn’t a deal breaker
what about drinking on the weekends? like saturday nights? once a week or once evert two weeks
youre borderline alcoholic with that amount of alcohol. if you get much higher you will be a definite alcoholic.
What you describe is alcoholism. I'll have a beer after work everyday but 300ml of vodka is like 7 shots dude, get your shit together.
most people would consider drinking beer 5 days a week to be alcoholism too
I won't deny that but I'm in a position where I have essentially no conscious memories of sobriety due to being put on adhd stimulants at the ripe old age of 7. Whatever. I take it in stride.
