Is Dietary fat necessary?

I’m cutting & consuming 1700 calories a day. Just checked my Cronometer & around 10% of my caloric intake is actually from fat. I just don’t see the logic in using a tablespoon of butter when I can eat an apple and a banana for the same amount of calories, they’d fill me up way more. Is this detrimental or am I good?

        Obviously depends on the person but for an adult male probably don't go under 50g of fat a day

    yes, fats are essential for hormone production. if you eat too little you hormone production will tank. the minimum is roughly 1g per kg of bodyweight.

    You need anywhere from 25-50% of your LBM (goal weight is probably better here) in fats

    I learned the hard way. I cut for about 2 years, was fat as frick, sub 20g of fat a day usually.

    it didnt catch up to me for a longgg time, but as of July I've been Binge purging on like 10g of fat. I am fine for 6 days, then I just wake up and just eat 25k calories in a single sitting, I also barely get full now.

    Not really, this was my entire issue, I just couldnt justify the calories. In reality just throw them into ur Volume meals.
    I do agree with putting it to 25-30% on a cut, maybe even 20%, but just know there are consequences.
    also my dick doesnt work, I havent felt shit in months, my self worth and preservation is shit, I have no ambition, and more. and I'm not even 15% yet, I barely made 20-25%

      I also will not that 50% of all of my fat comes in my first drink of the day.

      I will literally STILL to this day just skip them if I can if I push it to the end of the day. I force myself to frontload my fat, even if it makes me hungry later. Which is fricking GAY AND LAME, FRICK FATS, FRICK.

    i stopped messing around slashing macros (either carbs or fat) to absurd level because the cravings hit really hard, just do CICO while avoiding things like most cooking oils and iron fortified flour

      Are cravings better now? I’ve upped my fat content to 30% of my calories now (60g @ 69kg) . I just added 450 calories of cheese and some eggs, dunno if that’s bad or not

        yes it's much better, i still eat pretty low fat nowadays (60-70 grams). i used to drink like almost a pint of cream when i did very low fat and binged a loaf of sourdough when i did keto. i think you're on the right path but i suggest upping it slowly

    I'm genuinely at a point where I don't understand how people hit their macros while also cutting. I'm eating 4 chicken thighs a day, plus two servings of greek yogurt, and drinking a protein shake. This gives me roughly 216g protein, 81g carbs, and 53.5g fat which comes out to around 1750 calories. Now, admittedly, I'm a bit over my protein requirement as I'm currently 205lbs, but even if I dropped the shake, yogurt, or a serving of a chicken, I don't think I could fit something to make up enough fat while also staying at a significant deficit.

      it actually baffles me people eat fat, I'm so used to turbo stripping it I have to go out of my way to consume it. I.E Avocado, Butter, etc. or else I end up at MAX 30g

        I was eating ~1200 calories a day for a few months, but I felt like my protein intake was too low so I decided to just maximize protein while staying below my TDEE. I know 1700 calories is still a lot, which is why I'm having such a hard time wrapping my mind around being able to hit all macro goals while cutting. I don't eat any butter and the only olive oil I consume is from the seasoning on my cast iron pan, I don't cook anything directly in oil nor do I use it when seasoning my chicken. The only time I eat a somewhat considerable amount of fat is if I'm having a steak, which happens maybe twice a year.

          Just make sure to eat at minimum 30g, at 2nd minimum 25% of BW, bump up if needed, and after 50% of BW shit doesnt really change

          On a cut shit gets wonky anyways, thats my cope as to why I just cut fat to 0.

    rather than eating straight fats, like butter and oil, maybe trade chicken breast for thigh, sirloin for ribeye, egg whites for whole eggs.
    anyone wanting to cut fat would make the opposite trade.
