it just is, I've tried it
My diets are always easier to maintain and I feel better when I stop eating 3-4 hours before sleeping

not for me when speaking long term, BUT because I digest the food while I sleep, my body retains A LOT of water and I wake up bloated and puffy - especially with a cheat meal
I feel like I dont bloat nearly as much if I am awake(I guess I burn those kcals as soon as they become available, also im not horizontal)

Yes, your body spends the time digesting instead of resting. Try to be done eating at least 3 hours before bedtime, try to get 12-14 hours between the last meal and breakfast.

Depends from person to person is what I get from reading the replies here. I can't sleep for the life of me if I haven't eaten before bed. Quite the contrary, if I eat my usual bread, cheese and garlic with a glass of milk I sleep like a stone. I also have abs year round so it doesn't seem to affect my weight. Try it and see how it works out for yourself

I used to live like this but I now eat a breakfast of eggs every morning no matter what and my life has improved in ways. I just feel more okay more often.

It depends on portion size and how easily digestible the food is. If I'm having a big bowl of chili con carne with lots of meat and beans before bed I'm in for a nightmare, no pun intended. If I'm just having a few hardboiled eggs and tomatoes or something I'm perfectly fine. If you don't notice that it affects your sleep and you wake up feeling great and well-rested, just do whatever you're already doing. Otherwise, try having your main meals earlier in the day and 3-5 hours before bed only have easily digestible snacks or a casein shake in that window.

I noticed a big difference when moving my OMAD from late evening to morning. I have the most intense dreams nearly every night.

Also stop drinking water 2 hours before bed.
