Is everyone with abs frauding or am I just fat?
If I flex my stomach and stand up right I can see my 6 pack but if I relax completely my six pack disappears.
What bf is this? 5'6 140lbs

      you are probably around 18% bodyfat. I mean it doesnt really matter if its actually 16% or whatever because bodyfats are relative. It depends on fat distribution genetics, your amount of lean muscle mass etc. The absolutes are irrelevant. If you want abs but you dont have abs at x% arbitrary bodyfat then the answer is obviously to cut more. If you want abs and you get abs way before your supposed arbitrary bodyfat, then obviously can stop the cut because you reached your goal.

      You are around ~2 months cut away from having abs. So yeah I mean its a tricky question always because the lower you get the slower you get. You can typically lose about 2% per month but when you are approaching that actual six pack ab territory even 0,5% per month is tough. So in that sense maybe you are leaner idk its really tough to say. But it SHOULDNT take more than 2-3 months from that to get an actual legitimate Hollywood six-pack. You can make it before summer easily.

        It feels like hell to keep cutting at my weight, I have to legit eat 1300cal a day which is pretty much breakfast and dinner, I'm already skipping lunch, I've been trying to do more cardio so I can eat more but I've been losing like 0.25kg a week which is too slow

    Yeah you gotta be lean. Even at peak sprinting condition in college I didn't have abs. You're not gonna accidentally get a six pack, esp if you have caucasian belly fat distribution.

    It's fat, water bloat, and poor posture.

    Cut and fix posture by strengthening hamstring, glutes, and lower back(erectors)

    Also do some hip flexor stretches while strengthening those muscles.

    You're not supposed to relax completely. If you do, not only will your 6 pack vanish, which is a trifle, but you'll ruin your posture and even digestion, you'll get APT, you may even get diastasis recti, hernias and organ prolapses.

    That's why kung fu guys are often so fat, they relax completely and thereby frick themselves up.

    Train your abs more. If you want your abs visible when flexed you'll have to be sub 15 percent body fat - but even then there are guys who are sub 15 percent body fat and still don't show abs because their abs aren't filled out.

    Also, consider, not telling you to get fat, but 140 lbs is pretty weak for combat sports. At a lean 165-185 you would be able to defend yourself / look like you lift in clothes

      First correct answer in the thread. Look at op extremities - he might not be competition shredded but he's low enough bf that he probably should have more ab definition. Thus the lack of definition, in this case, is because op has not made his abs large enough relative to his bf percentage.

      This but at 12% everything on me is lean except for my stomach and my ass. I just carry what little fat I have there. Not enough to cover my abs, but its not consistently distributed

    you are fatter than you think and you have no abs. either loose 10 pounds or start training abs. with exercises that actually hit abs. which most exercises dont
