Lmao stay weak homosexual
Sorry I didn't realise it was impossible to be strong unless you do OHP. Better go tell all the powerlifters who rarely OHP that they're weak.
>powerlifters
>powerlifters
Powerlifting is pure COPE for unathletic fat asses
still unnecessary mileage on your shoulders
Why
>seated because it massages your ego
>dbs because it massages your ego
>being that externally rotated because it massages your physical therapists' wallet

I like standing db press better than all other options.
Literally can’t get the equivalent of 2 pl8s safely above your head to sit down
99.9% of natty lifters will never reach 2 plate for reps
Not my problem
Hahaha
I had a dream last night where I did this excercise with a female personal trainer that yelled at me, and then Dom Mazzetti came and kicked the shit out of her
Guys I’m serious xddddd I woke up laughing
You know that it's okay and recommended to have variation in your training?
cope out
t. 80kg standing barbell overhead press elite athlete
This but Arnold press
Nah, I don't like it. Seems to have less carryover to other lifts and hurts my shoulders. I like the dumbell variation for incline bench. Barbells are perfect for OHP purposes tho.
True! This one also rarely hurts my shoulders.
I find it doesn't hurt if you twist your arms slightly so your palms are facing inwards
That feels easier to do with a barbell tho. The elbow tuck feels natural there
Using a neutral/45 degree grip increases the ROM as well. It makes every inch as much sense here as it does with DB bench press
Why tho? Dumbbell standing is an accessory lift, barbell standing is my main. I can progress more steadily on barbell, dumbbells aren't good 12 reps, and you're missing out if you aren't doing 5-8 reps on ohp.
And standing feels way better. It trains you to produce power from the ground beneath your feet rather than the bench beneath your ass, which I find more intuitively stable and is probably more functional. It trains trunk rigidity, but my shoulders are still always the failing muscle.
Lastly I just prefer BIG movements that light up my nervous system and have me seeing red until I drain my balls into a woman. The more muscles required, the better an exercise is for that purpose. Barbell overhead press it is. Thanks Mr Rippetoe
It's a b***h to set up once you get to heavier weights
