Is fighter pilots actually the most?

>Must stay in peak performance and top health at all times so you can survive and operate at 5-10 Gs without passing out and at the same time maneuvering a fighter jet while enemy planes is chasing you.

Debate me.

Bro, just listening to a recording of these guys' breathing while flying hurts. Fuck that shit.

    WOAH so fit

      >Hurr le durr just use a joy stick

With the feeling of a fucking elephant is sitting on your chest.

Also, all their equipment they wear, you have to be able to move rapidly in the cockpit and turn and stuff and that shit aint easy with all the G-force. Also you must be 110% focused and calm all the time and be ready to solve problems that occur.

Not to mention that if you get shot down you are supposed to survive on your own for a while in enemy territory.

Do it yourself if you're so fit and healthy

  3. 3 months ago

Fuck no. A huge part of flying is dealing with g forces like you said but having some fat and being short give you a major advantage. Also there is no time for gym at pilot training.

My Contracting office was the most IST squadron on base because we had the time to take 2 hour lunches with 1 hour of gym time. Maintainers looked like shit because they worked 12 hours a day and got fed hot dogs at their work stations

    >You awaken 200 years from now from your cryofreeze.

    >Humans live in space colonies.
    >Mechanics, material design, and energy production has advanced to the point that humans operate massive exoskeletons for labor and warfare both in space and on earth.

    >People refer to them generically as Mobile Suits.

    >The radiation produced by the reactors makes wireless signals and remote control impossible due to electromagnetic interference. AI control is also limited.
    >These machines are primarily controlled physically via analog systems.

    >There is a catch:
    >A massive suit with weapons and heavy arms requires an equally strong and fit pilot to handle it.

    >A fast suit with lots of boosters and engines requires a pilot with good cardiovascular system to handle the G forces without blacking out (in addition to the body weight spiking during acceleration/deceleration becoming 5-10x what it is normally when sustaining G forces).

    >After the last colony drop, nuclear bombardment, and biological attacks by the both sides, the Earth Federation and Principality of Zeon are desperate for pilots.

    >Your 200 year old genetics easily mog the soibois of the current era.
    >Genetic decline + zero gravity for decades has wrecked human anatomy.
    >Additionally, the humans 200 years from now are only used to operating things virtually via AR/VR glasses

    >Because of your overwhelming physical prowess and experience handling things physically in real life, you will be assigned any mobile suit from the lineup based on your current physical ability to handle it.

Tldr: your current fitness = what you can pilot

Hope you havent been skipping cardio

      1G = acceleration of 9.8 meters/second
      9G = 88.2 meters/second
      88.2 meters/second = 197 miles per hour

Given a general human sustained upper limit of 9G for 30 seconds.

Imagine accelerating at 197mph for 30 seconds in space.

At the end of the 30 seconds, you would be traveling at ~5910 mph.
Dodging missles, lasers, cannon blasts, etc would require sharp impulse thrusts in various directions probably of ~10-15Gs for mere seconds at a time.

Your head itself would weigh 100-150lbs for brief bursts of time. More if you factor in the helmet weight.
G forces are slightly buffered/dampened by shock absorbers in the cockpit but not entirely negated.

The tech specs are actually listed in Gundam wikia.

The RX-78-2 Gundam has a listed top acceleration of 0.93 G
      RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern = 3.16G
      RX-78GP03 Gundam "Dendrobium"= 5.00G

      Unicorn is unlisted

And in Gundam lore, the minovsky particles generated by the reactors disrupt remote communication and electromagnetic waves (i.e. computers). This is why humans MUST pilot these relatively analog mechs or why they later switch to Psycommu (mind control) systems.

probably stressful but I think i'd be pretty rad to fly a jet.

      >flying at supersonic speeds miles in the air while stimmed out of your mind on pharmaceutical grade meth.
sounds like an adrenaline junkies wet dream.

until your retinas start to detach or you get any one of the laundry list of psychological problems that pilots develope that nobody talks about.

    >maneuvering a fighter jet while enemy planes are chasing you
This hasn’t happened outside of US propaganda films since probably WW2, all of the wars these “fighter pilots” have been through are basically them bombing the shit out of people with no air power. Most of them die from malfunctioning equipment rather than enemy fire.

  12. 3 months ago

fighter pilots do lots of squats and deadlifts to train their legs for g compression
a lot of them look like the SS t rex meme

They're not even close in fitness to the guys in the street knocking on doors. Not remotely.
