Is it bad to do cardio right before you lift?
I usually do 15 min of treadmill as a warm-up before going onto my lifts but i heard that it might hinder progress on muscle building.

        It's less efficient to do cardio and weight training in the same session, since you're using up resources for cardio that could have been used in the actual workout. Ideally, you'd separate the two (e.g. morning and night), but it's probably not a big deal if it's low intensity cardio (zone 1 or 2).
        If you're just walking on the treadmill and not really straining yourself, I wouldn't worry about it. But if you're doing HIIT or running hard or something, then you're probably impacting your weight training negatively.

        He's probably right, but I wouldn't have picked 170 as the threshold, and it depends on duration. If you go above zone 2 for heart rate, your body will use muscle glycogen instead of fat for fuel, which will limit how much you can do with the weights. The longer your heart rate is up that high, the more it'll impact it.

    15-minutes is barely anything. Just don’t overexert yourself during the warmup and you’ll probably be good to go for lifting.

    it's generally not a good idea to do cardio before weightlifting. It's not like really bad, you're just doing a quick warmup after all, just slightly bad. Warm up with light sets, then either do your cardio on different days/times or if that's not possible do it after lifting.
    You know, cardio is important, you just gotta stick it somewhere else.

      I know this is the general advice, but I swear I can't lift nearly as hard if I don't do cardio. Like I need a solid 30 minutes or stairmaster sprinting until I'm red in the face and sweating balls, or I just feel weak under the weights and like I can't push myself.

    I typically do my cardio after, just 10-15 minutes of jogging on an incline. Just a nice way to end a workout for me, burn some extra calories and good for your heart

    Dorian Yates did 10-15 minutes brisk walking on a treadmill and stretching before lifting (though he now would have done dynamic stretches over the static he did). I'd emulate that.

    Do rowing instead. Roon + Looft is double-whammy on your tendons and might impede your progress. Roon on off-days.

    I notice that I feel drained from cardio before my workout so I switched to strength training in the morning and cardio in the afternoon. That way I have enough energy to keep up performance for each workout and don’t feel gassed and dissatisfied

    I jog 10 minutes at 8-10 km/h before lifting. HIIT is best to be the last thing you do. But lifting without warming upp is not good if you are novice
