I learned how to ride a bicycle at 29. I just bought one, went to an empty park and rode that bitch and fell and rode again until I did it. Took six hours but that new skill stuck with me for nearly a decade now.
It's embarrassing yes, which is why it's best to do it alone at first. Good luck

Not making fun or anything, but how the hell did you not know how to ride a bike for so long?

I told my best friend it would be cringe at 22. He didn't listen, but dropped it anyway a few years later.

Being that old is pretty cringe to begin with, so I guess just go for it.

Yes, somewhat. Skating is a high risk extreme sport, not meant for adults who have jobs and responsibilities like paying the bills. It's fun - don't get me wrong. But unless you're a teen or college student sub 25, i would never pick up skating.

I used to skate when i was 15 until i was 20, and i do sometimes dream about picking up a board again. But i can't...don't wanna risk a serious injury and lose my job. But hey, if you're unemployed and got nothing to lose, go for it.

I live with my parents so it's ok, I don't pay bills

      No.

This is stupid. You are talking about risk of physical injury which is not related to cringe at all.

it's more cringe to ask a bunch of out of touch losers on the internet for permission

No, it's not. What is cringe is asking random gays on a Chilean ape harvesting forum for their opinion on it. Just fucking do it.

You can easily learn how to ride, but you're way past the point of being able to learn tricks easily. Kids just shit on adults, and even older teenagers, progress wise so don't be upset if you're 35 still trying to learn how to kickflip. But still do it if you're interested and be consistent, you can probably learn some cool flat ground tricks in under a year

38 here, learned to skate this summer. can't do any tricks yet, but i'm pretty comfortable carving on the board. only 1 major wipeout.

fuck the doomers on this site putting a time limit on learning new skills, just have fun with it. it's good for your brain to learn new things at all ages

I work in a skatepark and some of the shredders that come in here are like 50. Take advantage of your age. Travel around to places that your younger self couldn’t go. Learning true vert and bowl skating adds a lot of legitimacy to it as a hobby. But to do that you’re gonna have to learn to actually skate. It takes serious balls to even drop into a real vert ramp no matter how old you are. No doubt you will feel cringe learning to start with but you’ll improve very quickly as a focused adult
