i lived with my parents until 28 working a full time job after college. it helps to have a good relationship with them and they gave me all the privacy in the world. i could bring girls over. thanks to that, i can already afford a house.
>i could bring girls over.
Subtle slip lmao
its not subtle at all, he is pre empting a common complaint that copers that moved out have about living with their parents
>what is past tense
Then he should have said, I brought girls over
I agree in principle but I live with my parents now and they are more extroverted so I have a lot of issues with them always wanting to talk to me and bother me about stuff-they also are fighting all the time about stupid shit and yelling at the tv like apes about sports or politics. I love them but this is no way for a man in his 30s to live. I think theoretically families should stick together as much as possible, particularly these days when everything is fricked economically, but sometimes it's not possible or otherwise ideal because of lifestyle/personality differences.
>yelling at the tv
lucky bastard, my parents are mindless drones who agree 100% with everything they say on the news.
I lived with my mom for one year after finishing grad school and working full time. I had no idea where my gf would be going to med school so I took a job in my home town. Todays my last day. Moving this weekend for a job near her. It was great living at home but it’s time to move on.
>i could bring girls over. thanks to that, i can already afford a house.
>premarital sex in front of his mom
degenerate cuck
based. if i actually had a parents i would live with them until 30. frick getting laid.
I fricking wish. My mom said if I wanted to have girls over, I should move out. I’m like okay, enjoy not having grandchildren then because I’m not paying some israelite $3k/month here in NYC. And when I do move out, I’m leaving her ass behind.
>3k a month for a crack den
Good luck anon I dont understand how anyone in NYC does it.
It's the same everywhere nowadays. I like in Stockholm and the housing bubble is so fricked here that I still don't own shit at 35 and I make good money. Prices have just gone up faster than I've been able to increase my pay.
Western prostitution of society
Have you tried not living in a shithole city? Extremely doable in the US and you'll be happier and healthier for it. If you're not heavily filtering your water or drinking from a well you're fricked.
I'm here because my entire family lives here and my job and wife are here too. If I could get a career elsewhere and bring my family I'd move in a heartbeat.. but here in Sweden the countryside is literally dead
worth it if you got good family 😀
>i could bring girls over.
Lucky. My parents only let me bring over women.
Kek
Audible kek
i dont get it
He's joking that the other Anon brings home underage girls and his parents are okay with it
>Be 17 years and 364 days old.
>Anon why don't you bring over any girls?
>Be 17 years and 365 days old.
>Wtf Anon you can't bring over girls.
>I'm calling the police. I didn't raise a pedophile.
YOU SICK FRICK
>mom says I can have women stay over
>that's fricking gross mom no.
moved back in when I graduated right at the beginning of COVID since the job market was shit at that time and I did not want to bleed all my savings dry.
moved out again after I got a job though. it's nice for reducing your costs of living, but if your parents don't respect your privacy, it just becomes very irritating quickly. doesn't even have to be anything major, just shit like
>can't order something with them immediately breathing down your neck when you open the package because they want to see what's in it
>every time you are about to leave they want to know where you are going
>they basically know every single move you make
I lived with my parents till 27 and my dad would make fun of me for girls below what he deemed a 7/10 or if they were more than 130 pounds
kek
based dad
>or if they were more than 130 pounds
frickin based boomer
Am 27, moved back in with folks after losing job for not getting vaxx, brought home one chubby girl and my dad won't stop making fun of me.
Good.
>mommy let me bring heckin girls to my house bro
sure showed him huh
>Mom keeps pestering him about when he's going to bring a girl home
Does your mom know you're gay?
I'm 23 and graduating in a few days and landed an average paying engineer job that begins in a month 15 minutes from home. I'm barely surviving mentally in here but I have free access to good food, a close perfect gym and free car. They refuse me to have any girls or friends over which hurts and they invade my privacy with letters or orders etc. Plan is to either move out this fall or work two years and have enough money for a house loan (I have saved pretty much 95% of all my money in life). Rent does not feel worth it vs two years more here bros. Ironically it is the gym that keeps me sane, it's like getting it out of the system. It's leg day in an hour. Keep lifting
No, training on a rest day means it's a training day and not a rest day. Play a sport, touch grass, stretch. If you want your gains then rest is part of the process unless you're /fraud/.
Thanks man, and nice dubs
One set of say, curls, to failure isn't meaningfully going to impact recovery enough to matter.
Dumbass, you'd literally pushing your biceps to their limit! How the frick are they supposed to rest when doing that?! Workouts dont create muscle growth, they're just a stimulus and you need rest for compensation and overcompensation (i.e. growth)
That's why you morons who do 50 sets in a workout look like fricking dyels.
Keep talking dyel. It's obvious you're clueless. First off, recovery here isn't discussing individual muscle recovery. Secondly, small muscle groups like biceps heal in about a day. You can hit them multiple times a week. Biceps are fine 3-4x a week. Calves and abs you can hit every other day or even every single day without feeling exhausted and under recovering.
Third, rest day doesn't mean sit on your ass and do nothing. Active recovery beats complete rest 100% of the time.
>1 set to failure is my body's absolute limit
Develop higher work capacity dyel
I hate living with my mother. I moved back home after I was made redundant after covid and discovered she's metamorphosised into an old lady in only two years. Pic related is my bedroom wall. The whole house is wallpapered like this. We live in the literal middle of nowhere and all my old school friends long left. I'm saving up until I can afford a flat deposit then get a job in the nearby town.
That wallpaper is fricking beautiful and your mother doesn't deserve a miserable child like you.
Looks pretty tasteful tbqh
I lost my job and GF and had to move in with my parents for 6 months when I was 23. Those were some of the darkest times of my life.
Nah, living with your parents sucks because it essentially kills all dating, social, and sexual prospects
>stfu normalgay!! I'm a neet who never leaves mommy's basement and I love it!
Good for you, but most people don't think like that
Ultimate wage cope
In my (
) case and I can only assume for many others it really is true. My parents are morons. Many people have parents that respect privacy and have a home large enough for their adult children to live independently for the most part. Unfortunately on the opposite end many people do not. It's not as black and white as that unfortunately.
>t. spend $200+ a month on Diet Coke because my mom is addicted to it
You're literally killing your mother
Lol I’m mid 20’s and own a house, and every single person I know my age lives with their parents. I’m literally a social pariah for NOT living with my parents
Your 20s should be spend on education and getting skills and not socializing. Living with parents helps you build your networth quicker. Or another path is that you can just not work and focus on education fully while living in your parent's house, instead of having to do part time job to rent an apartment while studying. Meanwhile every gay who lives alone either wages non stop and barely has any savings, or he tries to study, but because he rents an apartment, he has to do some wagie work which in case of studying stuff like medicine, or computer science isn't ideal, because for these majors you need to focus on studying full time if you want a land a good paying job.
In the end it will pay off since you'll be able to have frick you amount of money in your late 20s early 30s.
>You should not spend your 20s socializing
>Instead you should spend it [...] networking
You're a fricking moron
>it essentially kills all dating, social, and sexual prospects
fortunately I have none anyway
>Good for you, but most people don't think like that
I didn't ask
>tfw live alone and haven't paid rent for 3 years
My bank account is growing...
Is living with your parents only seen as a bad thing in America? I've heard that for most Europeans it's normal
Not in Germanic Europe.
Southern and Slavic countries its fairly normal.
I can’t imagine someone being a grown man and still living with their parents lmao. I love giving half of my income to shekelberg to pay rent.
I really can’t either but my parents basically said ok you’re an adult now bye at 18 and it really fricked up my life. That whole they need to spread their wings and fly bullshit is fricked up.
Why wouldn't a parent allow their son to bring a girl over? Shouldn't you be glad that he's having sex like a normal person and not on his way to becoming an elliot rodger incel murderer?
Besides, I heard my parents having sex as a kid and it traumatized me, now it's their turn
Wait, wait wait wait. You guy's don't... there's no way.... a-are you guys telling me, seriously, without a word of a lie, with no hint of irony, that you didn't just get your parfents to buy you a house of your own? What the fuuuuuuck? Who the frick are you guys??? Why didn't you just get your parents to buy you a house? And own an asset that has likely doubled in value in the last year? Wow, I am floored. FLOORED.
>Renting
>Literally paying someone else's mortgage
>Living with parents
>Emotionally stunting yourselves
>Yeah baby just keep it down my mom's upstairs
>I'm 30 btw
ISHYGDDT
Listen Satan, some of us have moronic ass parents. They’re boomers.
Boomers are the most prosperous generation on Earth. Buying you a house is easy once their home has sextupled in value, their cottage is paid off, and their 3 cars and RV are all settled.
>lived with my parents full neet till 28
>got a shit job and moved out within 6 months
>5 years later landlord sold the house so now im back home and have been for 6 months
>instead of barely maxing a net profit every month im saving a ton
>unlike when i was unemployed parents aren't even asking for rent money
>i just sit i my room watching anime, jerking off and working out in the garage
boomers are also moronic, my parents were amazed i set a budget when they never have, also they've spent their entire lived overdrawn at the end of each month
>i just sit i my room watching anime, jerking off and working out in the garage
Wow anon I can't even contain my envy of your fantastically cool lifestyle please tell me more about the *jerking off and watching cartoons*
its pretty based
imagine she would do this to your balls
Imagine those are your balls haha hnnggg
>getting shoved everything you want in your butt
>doesn't work hard to build his own life from scratch
>can't function on his own
>will making it
nope
Building your own life from scratch only works if you.... successfully build it.
Congrats, bro.
>Parents work hard to raise their child to be the best they can be
>Parents have the money to buy their child a house, setting them up for inter-generational wealth
>TOO FAR >:{
>We want our kid spending 2x a mortgage on rent every month
yeah that makes sense, carry on.
it makes sense, this way the children learn to be independant. they will get the money when parents die, till then they learn not to spend it on stupid shit.
i moved out with 18. payed everything with my own money. i learned how to life on my own. i learned that i need to watch my money or my children will get nothing. building your own life teaches you important things about life. getting everything you want from your parents just teach you that you don't have to do anything on your own.
it's about teaching your kids what is important and what not. once they learned it you can still give them money if they need it.
>they will get money when parents die
This is not how it works in the real world ignorant twat.
Well off loved people posting on IST disgusts me too.
>they will get the money when parents die
medical bills will piss it all away, and the money from selling any property will go to paying an old folks home
>medical bills will piss it all away, and the money from selling any property will go to paying an old folks home
IMagine living in America, JESUS CHRIST
Responsible parents would have that shit already taken care off 20 years before death but that doesn’t exist for people who feel the need to post on IST. So why are you here?
>So why are you here?
Because my parents bought me a house, are amazing, and I like to visit the jungle sometimes so see what the frick the rabble get up to.
It’s because you’re a souless troony tbh
oof ouch owie how will I ever recover from this
>be handed everything
>still end up on IST
You were never going to recover
I see it as being similar to visiting a zoo, except instead of animals, it's full of people like you, which is far more entertaining.
I personally make good money. It just took way too long to achieve and I haven’t spoken to my parents in 15 years because they abandoned me. Pretty sure my dad is a homeless boomer at this very moment.
The oldest cope on IST lmao, sure buddy.
How's mommy's basement today?
>Why didn't you just get your parents to buy you a house?
Because our housing market is now perma-fricked and they spent most of their lives taking yearly trips to Mexico and buying sports cars instead of investing in cheap-as-frick property. They even sold our Grandfathers beautiful family lakeside cottage for pennies back in the early 2000s because they just didn't feel like "dealing with the uptake". That cottage is now worth close to a million dollars btw.
The amount of hatred I have for the boomer generation is palpable. I can't even fathom being this financially moronic.
>The amount of hatred I have for the boomer generation is palpable. I can't even fathom being this financially moronic.
My parents are boomers and did the opposite. Both of them grew up poor and now they own three houses outright. Hash tag not all boomers.
I feel your pain. I own nothing and my parents will pass my nothing when they die. I'm not even getting my father's house when he dies, apparently it's going to his younger girlfriend. That woman's family already own several properties to begin with. My father could have had a lot more to his name but he decided to frick around and pissed away his wealth on child support for different women. While his friends became millionaires buying cheap property, he was busy fricking prostitutes and drinking. My mother is the daughter of a woman with a 3rd grade education who got pumped and dumped by a well-off man. Said man, my grandfather, has a family who owns a bunch of properties, they the type of people who live in Beverly Hills or The Hamptons.
I look at the cards I was dealt in life and realized that my existence was a mistake, I was never meant to make it. This is why I do steroids.
>when he dies, apparently it's going to his younger girlfriend
Send this pic to your dad and tell him he will never be a woman
at my old wagie job whenever one of my coworkers (who didn't live with their parents like me) complained about their finances I'd always say
>I don't understand what the problem is, if you need more money just take it out of your trust fund
I moved out a few years ago and my relationship with my parents improved considerably
Yeah no shit, nobody wants a failure-to-launch 30-year-old kid marinating in cum and mountain dew in their basement when they're supposed to be enjoying their retirement years.
>imagine she would do this to your balls
She does, to mine.
>Yeah no shit, nobody wants a failure-to-launch 30-year-old kid marinating in cum and mountain dew in their basement when they're supposed to be enjoying their retirement years.
Projection? None of those things apply to me
>marinating in cum and mountain dew
fricking kek, have a (you)
26 years old here. Living with parents is based as frick. My father works from Monday to Friday, and my mom stays home as a housekeeper and takes care of my niece. Life is fricking good.
>house practically mine
>room is my home/personal space
>no worries about nagging wives or annoying children
>it’s all about peace in my room
>everything is always clean
>there’s always lunch and dinner ready
>give 20% of my income to mom so she's never broke, parents proud of me
>still able to save for plans/housing
>parents are proud of themselves for having a fit son that works at home in the IT field and takes care of their technological needs
>feel proud to help the woman that took care of me doing the hard work at home
>watch boxing and kung fu movies with my 60 years old father, feel good to share hobbies with my old man
>they know I’m not a moron so they don’t bother me for doing out and coming home late (6 am or so)
I don’t even need to bring girls, I frick an independent single mom that has her apartment for herself on weekends while the Cuck takes care of her daughter. Life is good when you share it with the people you love. Meanwhile, my older brother left home after graduating to form a family with a fat lazy modern “woman” that doesn’t even clean shit while I enjoy living without worries.
>Be me
>26 years young
>reboot the wireless router every few months
>parents EXTREMELY proud
Based ngl
If you're gonna live at home with your parents this is the right way to do it
Based indeed. Living life right. I can really relate to the sharing hobbies with your old man part.
I love my parents, but I still want to live alone. Problem is, buying a house costs a ton of money and im a moron with shitty job. Paying a rent is not even an option, it's just despair mode I don't want
homeless gang where you at?
>27
>shit job that doesn't make much money, let alone for a house of my own
>no idea what to do with my life
>no idea what career path to take
>live with family
>small house, dad, his partner and my 3 "siblings"
>only privacy I have is in my room
It's actually not that bad. While I'm not very social, I do love my family. Dad was wondering why I didn't just get a house when I was working 2 jobs, he didn't understand how I couldn't when he bought his house for like 250-300k. Then the smaller house across the road sold for 500-600k and one around the corner for 700k and he realised it's just not feasible for me to do with a single person income around here. I also don't want to just go out to nowhere and rarely see my siblings while they're so young.
Rentoids and manchildren living with parents are both pathetic.
>moved out immediatly after HS
>low-income family so my country covers my living expenses while I attend college (free) for 6 years
>my degree costs the state around 200k
>I'm getting another 60k additionally to cover my living expenses, only have to pay back 10k afterwards
I have to say, leeching off the state feels really good, chances are I might just pack up and leave my country afterwards. My family might be poor as frick, but thanks to dem programs I can attend college without having to wageslave
>parents buy a house for 50k in 2005
>it’s now worth 700k
>24
>KHV
>dropped out of uni twice
>roughly 20k in HECS debt
>never had a job
parents tolerate me because they blame themselves for me being the way that I am
At least they are willing to pay for their mistake.
We're in the same situation
But I'm not virgin
And I spent almost two years in prison.
Apparently I'm supposed to inherit the house, so I'm staying. Not that I have a girlfriend so why move out? Living in some commieblock would be awful.
I love living with my mom but I'm moving out simply because I'm obsessed with what people think with me. At least my new apartment has a gym and sauna to sweeten the deal, but yeah frick society not paying rent and being with your mom is based and I can't believe normies don't see things my way.
If we're being real I'd be just as much of a virgin living on my own and even lonelier. My dad is the only person I talk to about anything that isn't work.
No it's a rest day your supposed to be active resting not sitting on your ass but take the dog out go walk to the shops clean basically do daily normal shit and feed your body the nutrition it needs to repair and adapt.
Its the same as homosexuals who think they don't need time off if you are training hard enough week to week your body is slowly accumulating damage and fatigue eventually the pumps won't be as good and you won't be able to match last week or progress anymore thats when you deload because your bodies beaten up even if it doesn't feel like it and yes stick to your deload even if after 4 days you feel fine just stick it out you can still go to the gym and try different techniques , machines , lifts but not heavy for the next week when your fresh again.
One set of Deadlifts? I probably wouldn't.
One set of abs, biceps, or calves? Absolutely.
31, moved back in during covid because I couldn't afford to live on my own. I had been saving to get an apartment with my now ex-gf of 4 years, but she dumped me to spare herself the pain of her cheating.
I switched careers and I'm saving up to buy a house, sat with them and told them I'd be here 1.5-2 years more so I could buy a house. They're supportive and want to see me excel, so we're all ok with it. They're in their 60s now, they just want to spend more time with me, especially my dad whose health is starting to wane.
>but she dumped me to spare herself the pain of her cheating.
Worst fricking excuse anyone can come up with
It's a conscious decision, you're going to choose to be a disloyal prostitute.
I hope you threw her off a building brother, inshallah.
I lived with my dad for way too long and it fricked me up because despite the fact he couldn't figure out how to cook a meal or how his credit card worked or how to pay his bills online, he only ever felt good about himself when he was belittling me and he made sure to do that whenever he got the chance. When I went and got my own place it turned out everything in life was actually super easy and now I'm making mad bankroll as a tradesman far outpacing any rent issues, and also I don't need to pay to feed my dad and brother any more. I'm still kinda waiting for the walls to start crumbling around me like my dad always promised me they would because I'm such a moron idiot frickup, but they aren't.
if you can get pussy while living with your parents imagine the pussy living alone though
>le I can't get laid because I live with my parents meme
Are you frickers unaware of the millions of teenagers who have regular sex despite living with mommy and daddy? If they can do it why can't you?
because most women are roasties and will refuse to even acknowledge you if they find out you don't have a place of your own. A woman worth a damn will acknowledge it and be ok with it so long as you're working towards independence and achieve it.
at least that's how it works in the US, other countries are a different story.
Because standards change as you age and what's expected of you is different. Why would a woman be interested in someone that can't even support themselves? Why would they even waste their time?
Prefer living by myself tbh. Parents are annoying. I’m not a poor fat so rent costs don’t bother me.
>rentoid
>live with parents
What if I'm both?
some parent child relationship are toxic and it will only get worse if you stay with them. for me it was a no brainer. i left as soon as i could at 18. my personal growth skyrocketed ever since.
I'm 22, always lived with parents. I pay car insurance and help out with bills occasionally, that's it. Saving money is easy as frick. Putting 6% into my 401k, 6% into a Roth, and have invested $25,000 (still haven't made much profit from that though). Parents who kick their kids out are extremely uncaring in my opinion. Why wouldn't you want to maximize your child's financial security?
Because they bought into the meme that after 18 years life should be all about them. So kick out your offspring and start traveling the world.
>lives with parents gang
now let me tell you a story about what happened to me 2 saturdays ago
>go to bar with friend
>i'm tall, fit, attractive face and drunk
>some drunk chick in her 40s comes up to me and starts talking in my ear
>as drunk as i was all i knew to do in that situation is just grab her by the waist and pull her in
>didn't get slapped or pushed away so whatever she was saying was probably something flirty
>don't know what i told her during our conversation but she just turned around and walked away
>bar closing
>old chick walks past me and just said something along the lines of "go back to your mom"
>too drunk to know whats going on so me and my friend just bought another beer to drink outside before calling it a night
so what i think happened is that she wanted to go to my place but my drunk ass probably said something moronic like us having to be a little bit more silent to not wake up my mom
this is why i decided to move out in 3 months just to save up some money to survive in another city before i find a job
eww, roasties aren't worth paying off someone else's mortgage for bro. stay at home and work to get a better start for yourself than that.
I did what you plan to and bitterly regret it after 6 years of treading water.
I just want to thank my parents for loving me and letting me live with them. I love you mom, I love you dad.
Oh great, another thinly veiled socioeconomicpolitical thread disguised as a self improoooovement ISTness thread on the anime interested american fisherman's site.
