OP, this is literally what you need to get out of "depression".
Lifting and exercising will incentivize better, healthier, more productive habits.

Wallowing in your despair like a homosexual is like having a cold but fixating on the symptoms.
Your body and mind are signaling to you that you're sick and need to improve your current condition. It's a feature, not a bug.

Going by your gay-ass green texting you aren't looking for solutions, you want to indulge and wallow in your emotions like some kind of woman. You already know what you need to do.
Embrace suffering and build yourself up with it. Focus you can control in your life rather than stressing about things outside of your control.

If you’re picking up weights and going through the motions mostly correctly then you’re going to make gains. Eventually you’ll need to use dumbbells 5 lbs heavier or add weight. Do that

I bench 105kg but add 5kg on my spreadsheet to include the weight of my depression.

Exercising will help you be less depressed, just go through the motions until it's habit. Eventually it feels good to go, even if it sucks getting there. A huge part of depression is not feeling any agency and power in your life and exercising is a great way to gain control over your body and do something healthy that gives you a sense of mind-body connection which depressed people tend to lack.

Bro, I didn't train for like a week or maybe two. First time in my what 5-6 years home training journey. It is almost 9 pm and I know that if I start I will feel like shit and won't put enough work in them.
There were probably 3-6 maybe more moths where I did too big of a rest between sets, just was looking at phone or some stupid shit. I don't know what's wrong with me, I'm fricking everything up. No mood, no job, no hope. And I need to change a lot, but I feel like my dopamine is tanked. Even hygiene is not good tbqh. Maybe I should change things and go to a gym in near hotel. It is low cost and probably low quality but I gotta get back on track or I'm fricked, I'm losing it

I go to the gym depressed. When I’m in the gym I give my all. I sweat, turn red and occasionally grunt because I want to lift heavy weights. I get random bursts of motivation and energy when I am slacking. I get home and bask in the afterglow for an hour or two and return to a state of depression. I still make gains.

Had to get therapy before I could actually start making some real gains. I would go into the gym and no matter how hard i tried to push myself there was just nothing there inside me and while i could still feel the adrenaline or pump it felt like something distant.

Alot of normalgays have turned being sad or fatigued into depression so its not taken seriously anymore. Grab a therapist and get your shirt sorted out so you can feel all the bad shit again and all the good shit.
    >buh buh buh
being numb makes you a husk it gives you no ability to push at all or over come pain it just lets you endure it like the dog in the pavlov test that just lies down when its shocked. You can cope, you can argue, you can shit your pants but until you get rid of the numb feeling and get the pain back you will not be going anywhere you still be stuck.
    >d-do i need meds
the meds are a temporary thing your therapist will suggest so that your emotions dont overwhelm you during sessions or treatment so you can get out. Do not do them long term your brain will adjust to them and they wont work, meds have a time limit.

Guys I workout daily and I'm still extremely depressed that I have to work 40 hours a week. How do people do this for decades?

you literally just identified a source of your anxiety. why aren't you finding a way to solve that problem and work toward getting a better more fulling job?

        Anonymous

        >more fulling job?
There's nothing I specifically want to do career-wise. But I know I don't want to fix shit anymore and I'm fricking terrible at it. Problem is I can't just up and quit because I'm the sole provider for my family.

Exercise isnt enough to fix depression, you need to know what is causing it or if you are missing things. For instance if you do not have severe autism you need friends and social relationships as well as a gf/bf to function properly. Ignoring negative emotions or toughening them out does not work unless the reward you are shooting for is depression.

If you got insurance there should be a website on your card to find providers, talk to a doctor about getting into therapy and getting your shit sorted out. Avoid medication if possible and do the work.

You don't need to turn into a left week hippy loser but you need to get your head sorted so it can function like a normal adult man and not some cuckold.

I haven't had a friend in like six years now. My wife and son are great, but it's not the same.

I don't connect with people anymore bro. I had like a dozen good friends in college and I co-ran a gaming club which also had nice people but then everyone started moving away and then I moved away and I stopped liking video games so now I just don't know how to be friends with new people.

Just up and quitting without an exit plan is obviously foolish, that's not what I'm saying, anon. No one with any sense advises that.
You need to understand what you're currently capable of doing and what you're interested in doing and what you're willing to reach that goal.
Identify what you don't want in life and do the opposite of that. Write things down, be pragmatic in your approach.

You have 24 hours in a day to use, you take any amount of free time you have and invest in learning a new skill or trade if you lack that.
You may have less time now to allot because of family needs, but that doesn't mean you have no options or time to build with.

            >You need to understand what you're currently capable of doing
I don't really have any skills other than maintenance work, which I absolutely hate.
            >and what you're interested in doing
That's my biggest problem, I don't really want to do anything as a job. I've even considered going back to school for a second degree but I look over the course lists and absolutely nothing looks interesting to me.

Not everyone has a lifelong passion they can pinpoint, but it's up to you to decide what you'd rather do than what you're doing now. No one is going to decide that for you.
Maybe it'll take trying out other things before you find something you're genuinely passionate about, but being indecisive won't lead to any resolutions.

I’ve been suffering depression for months and lifting in the gym has been the best I’ve felt since September. Hanging with friends feels worse, spending time with family is emotionally taxing, but lifting at the gym makes me feel good.
…..ok, mogging my never-improve friend felt good
    >see friend, goes in for bro-hug
    >tries to do dominance thing of firm grip
    >do-you-want-to-play.wav
    >give him 30% of my power
    >he calls for mercy
    >him: ”I’m not what I used to be”
    >me: “I’m still leveling up”

        This is actually good advice.
Being around a better caliber of people that are ambitious and have good character drives you to improve as a man as well.

I got plenty of other reasons to be depressed. I’ve realized he’s a shitty friend. It’s the finding new social outlets & making friends part is tough. Also my wife gets clingy and jealous of me spending time with friends who aren’t couple-friends. Doesn’t help things.

Get some smokeless tobacco (snuff, snus, vape) and use it to perk you up so you can do something that gives you energy for a longer time, like lifting or even playing an FPS. Build a chain of these things until you've done everything you need to for a day.
