Is it true that Vitamin C is the most important micronutrient?
I mean if you eat whole foods, and are consistently hitting macros, and are eating all sorts of varieties including fruits, sea food, meat, dairy, eggs, etc... it doesn't really matter what micros you hit, as long as protein, fat, carbs and Vitamin C is in check.

I dunno if true but I have had nurse tell me vitamin C helps with protein absorption so I take 2 vitamin C pills a day just in case.
Vitamin c is necessary for collagen formation. In all the studies I've seen of collagen supplementation effect on connective tissue, they always supplement with vitamin c as well. Not sure if it's necessary for muscle building, but muscles are bound by and dependent on connective tissue. 1/3 of the body's protein is collagen. I try to get some source of vitamin c in every meal, some strawberries, leafy greens, bell pepper, etc.
I'd say yes. Every time I feel week or just starting to get sick, I consume 1/2 of a vit C lethal dose and I recover almost instantly.
I also read you can't really overdose on Vitamin C. Any excess that the body doesn't use, you piss it away but it's unlikely because almost every important process in your body uses vitamin C
And Vitamin V is vital in Vitamin D metabolisation
>I also read you can't really overdose on Vitamin C
I believe so. I just don't try to set a world record or die alone in my apartment. But yeah I've never experienced any side effects, it just makes me feel great that's all.
>vit C lethal dose
Not a thing
I literally agree, it was a figure of speech.
It wasn't. You were lying
Of course I was. And still am.
Only if you eat more than 20 g of carbs a day.
Are you even supposed to have vitamin c in the winter? If the modern industrial world didn't exist where would you even get a source of vitamin c from if you live in a place that's not temperate year round. Somewhere like most of Europe. Everything's dead in the winter where are you getting fruits from?
Where I live we have compote and fruit jam. Also apples, pears and quince can last for months.
Sauerkraut, other canned salted/fermented veggies, jams, dried fruit.
Organ meat
You’re dumb as shit. Pine trees and other roots and trees have tons of vit c. You boil them to make tea or even beer and ciders. Settlers in the USA did it, so did natives.
Potatoes and sweet potatoes got vitamin C fool
>in the winter
The equator exists you fricking idiots.
Winter berries, root vegetables, maybe liver.
The body does not work like that. Its needs a little bit of everything to function.
This is why I eat high Vitamin C fruit every single day.
Indian gooseberry, guava, papaya, watermelon
Oranges are a meme.
Vitamin C is important because it improves absorption of all the other nutrients.
Its been known that vitamin C is supposed to help with immune system but it helps the most with maintaining connective tissue. Keeps your skin elastic and keeps you looking young.
