Is it worth fixing deviated septum?

If I put my finger inside my right nostril there is place, on the left there is no space, that being said i still get air on the left nostril sometimes.

what to do? is it going to improve lifting?

If it bothers you, get surgery.
    If not, don’t.
    Are you really this autistic?

See if you have symptoms of sleep apnea. Otherwise, you don't need to have 100% clear nose all the time.

It will improve your mental focus and cardio considerably. Just be sure to have them cauterize the main vein up there so you don’t need stints for a long ass time.

AFAIK you just gotta constantly breathe through your nose even when it's uncomfortable, and it will fix itself

I have this. I snore so loud that my wife cant sleep. I have thought about getting it fixed for her sake but the thought of some doctor cutting my nose off my face is terrifying and I cant go through with it.

I’m getting a surgery next month for this. My father likewise has the condition and snores like a chainsaw, at this point he also wears a breathing apparatus at night to help regulate his breathing. I also get stuffy nose at night and if I don’t breath well during my sleep it’s game over and I feel like a zombie the next day. Really hopeful this surgery will help, my only fear is me saying something moronic around my mother when I’m under anesthesia as she’s DD’ing me to the hospital

I had my maxillary sinuses opened up (both were basically 99% closed) was worth it considering my nose was useless before that and now I exclusively breath thru my nose.
weigh your options anon, my nose felt tingly for a few years afterward and still does occasionally, a decade later.

I just had septoplasty last month. I had a deviated septum and lots of nasal polyps. For me, on a good day I could get moderate airflow through one nostril, but otherwise it was pretty sparse and I ended up having to mouth breathe every few minutes just to get some oxygen. Blowing my nose was usually unproductive, and even when I got mucus out it didn't help my breathing much.

I had always had breathing issues from when I was young, but they got worse over time. I'm 34 now and I really wish I had gotten the surgery years ago. I didn't realize how abnormal my situation was until recently. I definitely recommend going to see an ENT if you regularly have breathing issues, but if you never have to resort to mouth breathing you probably don't need it. I just wanted to share a positive experience.

No it's not worth to fix this cosmetic issue. If the outside of your nose looks fine then pass on the surgery. If you have problems breathing through your nose on one side sometimes, then it switches sides, then you might want to look into a Turbinate treatment. The Turbinates can become inflamed and cause you not to breath on one side of your nose, until it suddenly clears up, then switches to the other side. It's sudden blood flow to the Turbinate that causes this. You may also want to cut lactose, and gluten.
