Is it worth getting Deviated Septum surgery?

I feel like it affects me, while running and lifting etc. I feel like I get air on one nostril at a time. I aksed my parents and they said they get air on both nostril. I went to the doctor and she said yeah i have deviated septum but its not that bad, and I should decide myself if I want to get the surgery because Im the one who feels it so to say. So idk what to do, should I get it?

Be very careful, some cases where turbinates are removed cause breath hunger

Sometimes I forget the shit I take for granted that people struggle with. Like fricking breathing. I've just done it my whole life and aside from when I'm sick with a sinus issue I just never think about it. What levels of dysgenics are some of you people on?

      >dysgenics
not necesarily. I got hit by a ice-snow ball when i was a kid. My nose bled for 10 minutes straight. I went to the doc she said im fine, then many years later my septum developed deviated.

deviated septum is a huge fricking meme.
9/10 time sit's someone who has a natural nasal cycle.
1/10 times it's a person who has a legitimate concern with their nasal cycle where the one nostril will not open due to deviation.

you are not meant to breathe out of both nostrils.

I was about to get one. Doctor got me an appointment and everything. Untill one anon advised one of these. Thank God I didn't get the surgery. Couple of bucks solved my issue and I can't do without them anymore.

Can you breathe through your nose continuously and without problem while you sleep? Then don't get one. I had a severely deviated septum because of an accident and couldn't breathe through my nose while sleeping, it was hell but I got used to it over the years but my sleep quality was absolutely horrible. Now just lying down and breathing freely through the nose feels incredible.

What this anon said. If you can breathe through your nose while awake for 5 minutes without needing to open your mouth I wouldn't get surgery.

I broke my nose when I was younger and over time it got worse.
Got surgery in my early 30s and it's so nice being able to breathe properly.

If you're in Aus let me know and I'll recommend the only guy you should see

I can breathe through my nose when awake, but I always default to mouth breathing when asleep. Sort of worries about the effect it might have on oral health etc

Yeah I will most likely get one in a few months depending on how fricked the waiting times for basic surgeries will become due to the coof in Australia. Doctor told me use a spray for 2 months to see if there will be any improvement ,which to me personally seems very unlikely.
I can't sleep on my left side longer than a few minutes and I think the general breathing quality would prove a lot after fixing my nose.

I want these feels. One notstril pretty much always blocked, have PND also, and if other nostril becomes blocked at night wake up feeling like been beat round the face. Also get reflux issues at night from lungs trying to breathe through nose but cant and ends up vaccuming up acid from stomach into airways. c**ts fricked.

The spray actually works by opening up the side with the fricked septum, but its not something you can use all the time.

    >tfw i tried to put tape on my mouth to force nose breathing
i tried it for a few days. Is my brain fried forever because of the small air intake?

Get tested for sleep apnea. Deviated septum can mean possible bad airways outside of your nose too, which can lead to sleep apnea.
