Yes, if you have a legit recession, have the financial means to do so, and go to one of the best surgeons who can maximize your chances of a good result.

No if you just want to take an average jaw to a good jaw, have *just* enough to pay for it, and opt for the surgeon who's nearest to you.

This. Too many people lowbid major cosmetic surgeries and end up looking like shit afterwards.

If you have enough money, go to the best. Also post jaw

Not him but what if I have an average jaw but some issues that can be solved by it (lips naturally hang open and I have to be consciously trying to keep them closed) but nothing imminently demanding attention, have a pretty good amount of money saved, and would go to a good, reputable surgeon.

From what I've seen, cosmetic surgery is good at taking a craniofacial deformity (e.g. a recessed chin/jaw or crooked nose) and making it look normal (i.e. from below average to average). It's not so good at taking an average feature and making it look above-average.

What about OPs picture? Well bellow average to above average. Or is that the best of the best possible results they choose to advertise?

Yes I have an actual jaw recession caused by poor orthodontia (parents didn’t have money to send me to the best in class)
Now I have cash, managed to get a good career, I’m able to go to a top tier surgeon, I think it’d be worth it.

OP I got chin surgery (not jaw surgery since I didn't have any functional issues) and I 100% think it was the right choice. Pic related was me prior to the surgery, I do kinda regret not getting the full jaw surgery since I would have gotten a slightly more attractive result and I was already spending a ton of money so what's a little more. But still just comparing then vs now I look significantly better so I'm happy with where I'm at

My chin isn’t really the problem. I actually have a pretty strong chin, it’s just so recessed, it’s like Peter Griffin with his jaw nudged back a bit

If you want an honest answer you should get surgery if your lower jaw is recessed by more than 2 or 3 mm. This should be determined by X-ray. In a lot of cases, a slightly recessed jaw can be fixed by extraction of 2 upper teeth and corrective braces, then a chin implant. It is way cheaper and less invasive. But it will not make you super chad.

    The keys to consider are:
Is your maxila jotting forwards? This means a double jaw surgery, they have to move your maxila too.
Is your jaw recessed by a substantial amount? No chin implant is gonna fix this if you opt for not getting the surgery
Does your palate need expansion? The more expansion required the more time before the surgery that you are gonna have to wear braces

It is an expensive and complex surgery, The post-operative is rough (1-2 months of liquid diet and a mouth held closed by wires, and painkillers for upwards of 4 months, obviously no exercise for up to 6 months).

Depending on the surgeon they might offer a chin implant, cheekbone implants or even a blepharoplasty to go with the jaw surgery. These are up to you, they will show you some preview of what it could look like (emphasis on could, it might look different).

It depends on how recessed you are. You might need bimax first. I plan on getting a wrap around and canthoplasty to fix NCT. No shame in surgery. Women fraud 24/7.

Yep. That's a damn good eye area, anon. My only falo is negative canthal tilt. If I was too far gone in the eye area I wouldn't even bother with canthoplasty.

This is my jawline too, but it's rarely ever this defined because of my bodyfat. Will I be a Chad if I lose some weight?

Unironically yes. Granted you have decent muscle mass to at least look otter mode after a cut you really should consider cutting. Even beyond the jaw, your other facial features will look better.

I'm supposed to be cutting now but I've just been maintaining for about a month. I'll probably drop some weight in the next two months. I don't feel like I'm all that good looking though, I'm a khv and don't get much female attention. Or maybe I do and I'm oblivious.

Your chin is a little weak. You might need an implant or filler. I would go with filler first to get an idea of what you will look like with an implant. Your jaw looks fine.

I'm not gonna get surgery for my chin being "a little weak". I'm not gonna get surgery or fillers or whatever the frick. I'll looksmax without that, sure, but no makeup or surgeries or anything.

Yes as a man your jaw is the single most defining trait for attractiveness and social desirability. I was shunned as an undesirable by both peers and adults when mine became recessed as a teen due to asthma. The better treatment I got from literally everyone after correcting it was like night and day. It was like all these social avenues suddenly opened up for me. It’s actually insane how much people judge based on appearance. I highly advise anyone with this problem to make getting the surgery the highest priority in your life. If you have sleep apnea it can also help you there.
