bad idea, I’ve heard stories of people who do this and get terrible shits and start to feel really sick, you have to realize that peanut butter also contains tons of peanut oil, which isn’t bad for you per’se but if you’re eating a shitload of it every day it’ll start to make you feel like shit

Aren't those like 5,000 calories each? I guess if you're dirty bulking...then again it is technically packed with sneed oils like said. I wouldn't do it. GOMAD is unironically the better bet.

Wrong. I’ve been going through jars of peanut butter the last few weeks and I feel great. Starting to lose weight too. It helps that I’m also eating low carb probably.

My love for peanut butter is borderline autistic. I even cultivate the plant, and I've had no issues with regularly consuming the butter. That said, portions are everything.

How much fiber would be in that? Would it wreck your butthole? I make mafe which is a Senegalese lamb shank stew with a peanut butter/red wine sauce that always gives me the wildest shites.

Jif and Skippy both contain vegetable (sōybēan) oil

          Anonymous

The problem isn't the less than 2% "vegetable oils".
The problem is that peanuts themselves are seeds and have all the same issues as seed oils, and peanut oil makes up 30-50% of peanut oil depending on the brand.

There's a difference between ground up peanuts and the natural oils that come out of them and hyper-processed shit like vegetable oil

The issue there is that, the peanut IS the seed. Then again if

is to be believed, this is clearly not as bad as I thought.

u can get pb thats just roasted peanuts blended into a butter without anything in it just look for the only peanuts label

Certainly a good Idea. Out of curiosity, are the peanut butters you grind yourself at WinCo (Pic Related) in that category? My family got that stuff a lot when I was a teen, and you are literally able to watch your peanut butter get made from peanuts. I was pretty damn strong for a completely sedentary fatass back then (205 lb bench the first time I tried it at 14. I was 235 lbs tho). Maybe that helped contribute?
I always loved peanut butter but I dropped it due to caloric density. I would always massively overeat the stuff.

    Is the aflatoxin threat real?

In addition to the excellent and rational responses by Quoran colleagues, I can also offer the perspective of the threat from the growth of the mold Aspergillus flavus in groundnuts (peanuts). This mold produces a group of toxins that include aflatoxin B1, the most powerful liver carcinogen known, (human Class 1 carcinogen). The joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) has issued two potency factors for aflatoxin alone, and for aflatoxin consumed by a person with Hepatitis B infection (in which case the cancer risk is 30 times greater).

Aspergillus species will produce these toxins in maize, figs, raisins, cottonseed, and rarely rice, but peanuts provide the greatest concern. Of all legumes (pea-family), the ground nut is most affected by Aspergillus species because it grows at ground level, and the fungus can grow in the seed without damaging the plant. A water activity of at least about 65% is needed (corresponding to a moisture content of about 8%).

Commercial peanuts are usually subject to hand or mechanical sorting by colour, and permitted levels of aflatoxins in commercial peanut butter have dropped to between 15–20 ppb.

In short, that still equates to approximately 1 in a million extra cancer deaths over a lifetime of eating about 15 g peanut butter a day for life. For 384 g/day, expect 25 extra cancer deaths per million consumers (provided their obesity-related pathologies don’t cause their demise earlier!).
