Weight classes exist for a reason & you only need the most cursory fight training to be a legit threat if you're really fit..versus twig boy on the left who would need several thousand hours of experience to be dangeous and even then it's a crapshoot because advanced musculature helps mitigate force from striking & threat of submission.

Kicks always seem so moronic in street fighting to me. You are forced to balance on one leg, and if the opponent goes low for you theres no way you can pivot or beat the grapple and you

          Anonymous

If you're assuming zero training for both parties, sure. Someone untrained trying to headkick is likely to end up on their arse/tearing a hammy regardless.

If the kicker has a few months training in any non-boxing striking art, the odds of some random catching/checking a kick are pretty much zero

            Anonymous

Yeah I mean the guy was given fair warning he was dealing with a kickboxer, the guy went low and kicked his shin before the backflick. To me it seems kickboxing is overly technical martial art that you can lose to just some guy bumping you. Case in point

I used to believe this shit before i got into fighting myself. i feel like people who believe this dont know just how big of an impact footwork and pivoting translates into a strong attack. a heavier guy can push smaller guys around easier but that is just one aspect of fighting and pushing doesn't really do damage. Real damage is done with how well you pivot your hips into punches and kicks, just look at c**ts in thailand breaking things with their shin easily.

why do i always have to wait a minute when i make a post fix ur shit up IST

I never made more progress in martial arts than when I let training take the backseat to conditioning. Just saying that in terms of effort investment, you get more returns by focusing on your athleticism. Anything you train in martial arts is exponentially easier the fitter you are. Plus...

Lifting is for fun and for the brain gains.

This. There is tons of science showing you build your brain as you build your body. You just get more bang for you buck so to speak focusing on your fitness. I feel way more competent spending more time in the gym than I did spending more time on the mat.

I'm a wrestler so my whole sport is kind of just pushing and pulling lol. Weight and muscle certainly plays a huge role, but I can imagine it's probably more equal in a striking art. That said, any combat athlete, even boxers, with things like weight classes being accounted for, would become better fighters with more muscle and strength. If you have the same skill but 20+ pounds of muscle, new you would beat up old you, no doubts about it. That's why the solution always has been to just do both MAs and lifting.

That means you were weak/untrained at 160 compared to 175 when you trained.

GGG is a pro athlete who has been training his entire life. He competes at 160 lbs because that's his best weight class for fighting he walks around 175 to 180ish and has been conditioned and trained as an elite athlete at that weight and does weighted pull ups with plates for reps and 4+ plate deadlifts while at the same time having elite level boxing skills and top tier conditioning and cardiovascular fitness.

People are mad because you are right. Yes at some extremes a professional fighter would destroy a roid trannie.

Ive sparred with people much more skilled than me and I can just moron strength my way through it. Now flip side ive had my ass kicked by people 50 pounds smaller than me. At the time I was pretty shit at fighting, but the smaller dude even said larger guys become a problem a lot quicker because the equation is skill + muscle. Anyone who says otherwise is fricking moronic.

I've heard that for every belt you have on some for bjj you can take someone about 20 lbs bigger than you.

Also its the fricking liver king he has implants and shit to look more muscular than he actually is.

I dont know who the fighter is on the left I dont doubt he could put to sleep most roid trannies, but if he is boxing only, and he has to deal with someone much larger and stronger than him, I think it could go either way, it takes one fall to lose an advantage and that can easily happen in a non standard ring.

Liver king gets dusted, but the concept of muscle doesnt over come technique is fricking moronic. More muscle helps in fights until maybe a certain point.

I don't disagree with your main point. But people think pro boxers don't train any grappling/clinch work at all and that's not true.

Boxers need to work and train clinches and tie ups because it's a part of the sport.

Boxers use clinching to lean on and tire out the opponent, to tie up and smother to protect themselves when hurt or tired, or to clinch to stop offensive or to clinch and move the guy to get off the ropes or get into better ring position.

I would argue that GGG if a normal person clinched him would be relatively hard to move, have good balance and decent technical skill because he will have trained tying up an arm and punching from the clinch, trying to avoid getting turned and moved, being able to clinch and walk someone to the ropes, being able to clinch and turn someone off the ropes or tying up both arms. Keep in mind that GGG also has good footwork, balance and speed and he likely in a clinch can get a trip as well.

This scenario the OP presents is stupid because you compare GGG an elite level boxer athlete to Liverking an influence PED abuser who is in his mid 40s and does not even have as large a size advantage as people think and sell it to us as muscles not being important.

It's the same as always. Cope from dyels getting mogged who want to believe that when crunch time comes they're gonna one shot the big guy like they're the MC in their precious animus.

It's even more moronic when you factor in that.

GGG does lift weights for strength and conditioning and does standard weighted pull ups, trap bar deadlifts, Olympic lift movements in addition to rest of his workout routine and training.

Liverking works out and juices to sell an image for an aesthetic reason not an athletic one.

GGG is a freak athlete with elite level punching power+chin which are somewhat genetic traits.

So the people who say that lifting is useless discredit the fact that almost every MMA and boxer athlete at this point does some lifting for strength and conditoning.

And the guys who say only weight or being "big" matters discredit the idea of skill, athleticism beyond strength, or conditioning. So these threads become even more moronic since nothing is stopping someone from doing both MMA and boxing training, combined with lifting weights.

The difference in bodyweight between Liverking who I think weights about 200ish and GGG who fights at 160 and probably walks around at 175-180ish is not even that big. Also GGG beats Liverking at every single aspect of athletic talent outside of strength, he has faster feet/better cardio/more explosive power/ more conditioning/better balance/better chin/ better hand speed/better hand eye coordination/better movement/ better mobility.

How can I weigh more than liver king and not be a fat?
Seems impossible. Is he really that short?

Liverking is about 5'7" I believe and is very low bodyfat which also means lower levels of water retention. Even if you have Liverking at let's say 12% bodyfat and a bit bloated he probably tops at 225 lbs, giving him 45 lbs on GGG's walk around weight. Which would be useless in a boxing match since GGG has elite level power/chin and is vastly more athletic in every single field except for strength and obviously a skilled pro boxer. At best the only edge you could even give Liverking or hope to survive is if he can clinch up and tie up GGG that he might be able to out wrestle or grapple him but even that is extremely unlikely because... pro boxers train clinching/wrestling as well to some degree because even in pro boxing you do have clinches/tie ups in the fight even if it's against the rules.

It's hard to explain to boxing/mma fans that different people engage in different hobbies, and that unless you're living in a shithole you won't really get to fight people unless you're looking for assault charges. It's also hard to explain to boxing/mma fans that their fighting skills don't make them immune to getting their skull pierced with a bullet.

Fighting can go one way or another very easily, you cant say who will win ever but normally more weight = advantage. Even trained people can get banged out by untrained people, Ive seen it happen. It was soooo funny seeing this boxer gay who thought he was so hard get dropped sparring with an untrained friend of his.

There is something intensely satisfying in seeing someone who outwardly looks dangerous be rendered completely helpless in under thirty seconds.

Butterbean had notoriously shitty ground game, even as he got more experienced in MMA. Pudz raped his ass too. He was always kind of a meme fighter, even in boxing. He fought 100 nobodies in 4 round fights. They dragged Larry Holmes's old ass out of retirement and he boxed a circle around Butterbean.

If he wasn't such a fat shit and actually trained harder, he might have been able to be a fringe contender, maybe get a top 10 ranking on one of the major sanctioning bodies. Instead he made a career out of fighting toughman challenge caliber guys. Probably made more money doing this so it was the right choice.

He also got his shit pushed in when he tried k1

uh no lol this is so dumb and only a genuine troon would believe this. Look LK and that irrelevant cuck in the same room for 5 minutes and twinky would be screaming and banging on the door to be let out as LK rapes his tight fricking butthole. There would be nothing but blood, cum, piss, shit, and tears all over the goddamn room after LK is done facefricking that twink's homosexual ass. He would literally blow his tiny back out and bro would be quite literally crying in a pool of his own feces. Anyone who says otherwise is objectively troonmaxing and unironically thinks they will be a woman one day.

They do. To be fair it's not just power lifters, most people think they can fight despite never fighting/training. Something about another human being able to kill you relatively easily with their bare hands just sets off gym monkies.
