Is mercury poisoning a meme?

My dog eats a can of tuna in olive oil everyday, she’s 15 years old, 7kg and lean, no health issues.

Mercury poisoning is real and it is bad.
A dog eating 1 can of tuna per day, is like you eating 10-20 cans per day.
Personally I can feel the metallic taste of mercury from eating canned tuna, and typically get 1-2 days of mild brain fog after eating it.

However dogs don't live as long, so the bioaccumulation effect won't be as serious.

And eating tuna is probably a lot better for a dog than eating kibbels.

probably a bad idea since it is so small mercury can accumulate in the bloodstream at a much higher dose than what is rated for humans but dont take advice from me im autistic

So how is a 7kg dog able to eat tuna everyday and be 15 years old without any health issues ?

Wouldn’t a creature that lives shorter lives be a canary in the coal mine type warning sign?

i have no idea, did u get the dog completely checked? maybe dogs digest and mitigate mercury better than humans

Maybe maybe not. Deenz or salmon would be safer if you're concerned

I miss my Westie. He was a dick and super stubborn, but he was such a cutie. They have so much personality.

I never cared for dogs until my gf got a little maltese. Fell in love with her too.

idk that seems like a lot for a small dog
I regularly have a so called "light tuna" (which apparently has less mercury than other kinds) that I do share with my dog
he does like salmon a lot tho

She's very cute but I wouldn't feed her tuna every day
