Most likely you are doing it wrong. You can see results from neckmaxxing pretty easy by the pump and the muscle also grows in a matter of weeks. Try to not grab the weight strongly but just keep your hands in place so they don't fall down and let actually your neck do the work. No idea, you kinda have to get into it but if you didn't figure it out in 2 months... Maybe just do something else.

My neck got bigger from doing months of exclusively squatting for progressive overload and doing maintnenace loads on all accessory movements.
I did notice a difference in 5 days.
Routine: 2kg stapped on head with belt
neck extensions x 100
neck side to side x 50
neck twist side to side x 50
neck circle rightward x 50
neck circle leftward x 50
Those leftward circles must unwind themselves after 50 rightward circles
Do it with resistance bands it's 100% more effective. Many repetitions fill the tension build up. Work neck from all directions like F1 racers do.

Direct trap training and neck training (for the most part) is a cope for gymcel manlets (one that shall remain nameless). Correct training with conventional movements will give you the optimal proportions for your frame within 2-3 years.
