if you think it's a choice you're literally the diet equivalent of a flat earther according to science

cope. i understand that obesity is a disease of the body, mind and soul. but its still a choice.

On a spiritual and philosophical level "choice" is the problem. There are clearly different categories of human being with different levels of agency and abilities to self actualize. The great mass of humanity are basically automatons and slaves to top down cultural trends.

If you're smart enough to realize it you should be trying to capitalize on human mediocrity. Being a rich overlord is one of the few things worth pursuing in this world.

      >oh my body has a lower metabolism, that means I can't avoid getting fat if I eat a normal amount of food
Then eat less. If your body only need 1500 calories a day, then eat that. Don't eat 2000 and complain that there's nothing you can do about it. Being fat is a choice. You choose to eat more than what your body NEEDS (not wants, needs). Eat only what your body needs and you won't get fat. Yes, this might mean not eating much, but you won't get fat.

        Anonymous

Or, move more. Fatties always cry muh metabolism but it's completely within their control. If your body uses 1500 kcals/day then ride a bike like 45 minutes and you now use 2000.

Not really specially the kids that get obese because of the parents
At 12 years old I realized this and stopped eating like a pig and both my parents and my chunky brother treated me like I was michael jackson injecting myself 10 compounds in the daily when I was just eating 3 meals a day and no snacks
Also being a fatty at such young age builds character

Pretty much this. What’s a kid gonna say, “hey I know you guys have been feeding me donuts, corn syrup, candy, and 5x the recommended daily calorie intake, but my 7 year old brain is telling me this is wrong so stop it and feed me properly”

      >especially the kids that get obese because of the parents
based. bad habits are built as a child and continue into adult life.
of course people still have self agency and need the willpower to make better choices, people cant just blame their childhood forever
but getting addicted to shitty foods in crucial developmental years doesnt make things any easier

    Is obesity a choice?

    >Yes

If this is true, being obese is therefore indicative of a shameful lack of discipline, good character, pro-social morality and self-worth. The solution is to ostracize, shun, persecute and expel the obese. Doing so will improve society and benefit future human generations.

    >No

If this is true, then obesity is indicative of growing dysgenic drift in society. The solution is to sterilize, expel and exterminate the obese. Doing so will improve society and benefit future human generations.

I think anyone would have a hard time getting rid of the obesity, the key is children.
We must focus on children,if they develop well the chances they face any of these problems in the future is minimal.

I don't care if it's a choice or not. I'm repulsed by the fatties who dont want it to be choice.
They would rather give up all agency and free will just to escape the blame for their current predicament. Disgusting pondlife mentality. Everything bad that happens to me is my fault thanks.

    Is dwarfism a choice?

  9. 2 months ago

    Yes and no.

Sadly in America parents often feed their kids sugary drinks and food at an early age, which we know causes lifetime sugar addiction and binge eating. It's still their choice to fix the problem later in adulthood, but the problem will be much harder to fix now thanks to what their parents did years ago.

A kid who grows up on soda, candy, and fast food has no fucking hope.

It was the opposite for me. My mother has a grocery store so I grew up eating and drinking the sugariest shit I could find. It wasn't until I was 16 that I got tired of sugar, still this day I hate sugary food to death.

Sugar addiction can happen any time, for me it's when I started having money and could start buying fast food for myself. Before fast food was a treat you only had on vacations. The big problem is growing up I never had a serious conversation about macro nutrients. You just ate what was in front of you to eat your fruits and veggies, no one actually talked about how important protein was.

        Anonymous

Fact-based conversations about macros and fitness almost never convince anyone, much less young people. A better strategy is emotional conditioning.

Basically, you need to create an unconscious association between obesity and negative outcomes. Meaning, if you have kids, you need to convince kids that fat people are sick and evil, and sugar addiction is an affront to God.

You can talk about macros all you want and kids won't care. They'll just accuse you of being fatphobic because reddit. Show them pictures of fat people getting their limbs amputated, or folds of fat hiding sprouting mushrooms on a fat woman's stomach.

          Anonymous

My point is no one even talked about it once. I grew up with food being food but never once did someone lay out calories, gaining / losing weight, macros, etc. You hear the tired mantra about eating fruits and vegetables but no ones talks about how important getting protein in is for your muscle and organ health. Even growing up I remember being told by my mother how important water is and it's like giving your insides a bath blah blah. So I think it's important to say, "you should eat your meat if you want to be big and strong".

I don't see it in the thread yet so:
They only ways to get rid of fat cells entirely is liposuction or cosmetic surgery. Once they are there, you can "deflate" them by starving them, but if you binge again then they'll swell right back up with fat.
So if your parents make you fat young, you're kinda fucked
