I didn’t realize the potatoes I buy for pennies are the real moneymakers. It’s not the high margin meat?

Im no expert but i live in central Illinois and build grain bins and all the farmers are richer than frick off of corn, wheat, and beans while all the ranchers are struggling.

Meat is low margin. Most of the profit goes to the farmer. No opportunity for branding (e.g. Trump can get elected president but "Trump" brand steaks failed).

All the most profitable food businesses are name brands with proprietary recipes made out of sugar, flour, and vegetable oils.

          Compared to potatoes and broccoli?

Yes. Meat is the lowest profit margin food as you can tell by the corporations trying to stop you from eating it. Even the meat processing giants want to sell plant-based slop they just can't figure out how to trick idiots into buying it.

why do people need plant oil? when I cook meat there's plenty of animal fat to share with the other stuff I'll cook like onions, garlic, and carrots.

Why can't people just eat like a normal person with a good balance of fats, carbs, and proteins while avoiding garbage foods?

It has to be the special food that's evil that's making America fat. It can't be that they eat too much calories.

        Calories are just a measurement.

The substance people eat more of is carbs.

    Obviously not
    But I'm curious
Why do vegans look like they're fricking dying?
Is it a lack of collagen or some other vitamins or what? What the hell causes someone to age 2x as fast and why do they choose this life?

Self-flagellation. Veganism is a religion and they show their piety by starving themselves.

If veganism was healthy there would be no way to distinguish between the righteous who go vegan for animals and the selfish who go vegan for themselves.

Vegans are happy their diet kills them. It's the biggest virtue signal possible.

Its really jarring i ran into an ex girlfriend of mine who went vegan last time i was in my hometown and she went from looking like a real life alice in wonderland to the chick in the OP. Simultaneously 15 and 55 somehow

If done correctly it is literally the healthiest way to eat. If done badly it can cause malnourishment as shown in the cherry picked examples itt.

Raw vegan != plant-based. That's like posting morbidly obese people and claiming them to be accurate represtations of meat eaters.

        Anonymous

Why is it the healthiest way to eat though? You're cutting out less processed food (meat, fish, eggs) which our ancestors have been consuming since before they left Africa and replacing them with more processed, more sugar containing alternatives. You also have to take supplements which might have by-effects we don't even know about yet.
I'm not against veganism when done for ethical/ecological reasons, but this health argument doesn't make any sense to me.

My dad is 52, eats a standard junk diet, sits in a chair ten hours a day, his only exercise is two hours of badminton a week. He still looks healthier and younger than Dr. Greger.
If I was a vegan and convinced of the superiority of my diet, I wouldn't want this guy to represent me.

            Anonymous

It's all vegan doctors, though. Not just Greger. Every single vegan doctor is a ghoul.

When vegans want to tell you veganism is healthy they have to post young steroid users.
