Isn't running boring enough while actually moving?

Nope, its probably three times less efficient, I can run in place for hours but die within 5 mins of running outdoors, it hits different.

No. Moving yourself forward is the exercise.

Frick, I don't want to run outside so I was thinking of ways to do it inside. Can't get any machines here either, too small apartment.

Can you do explosive mountain climbers and calf jumps? I feel like if you do the maximum mountain climbers paired with push ups you get really good results for running speed boost, calf jumps would be more endurance, the push ups are there for a rest period, while at it why not include hindu squats? They work the ankles a lot and leg strength in general.

Yes those seem good, i've been running in place and jumping rope and doing sumo walking to this day. I've gained some, I can run on a treadmill for 5k in 30min straight quite easily, before not even 10 mins.

Just don't over do it with the hindu squats or you might bust your joints though, keep it to three max sets a day.

If I walked outside every day about an hour and then do these, would that be sufficient?

Buy some resistance bands, anchor them close to the ground, place them slightly above your hips and run.
        Picrel.

However, you SHOULD (I dare say you MUST) run outside. The gains are not only on your legs (if you sprint), calorie expenditure and cardiovascular adaptations.
We evolved outside, in the open, with nature, chasing after shit.
It betters your eyesight, gives you a goal to hit (if you put your mind into reaching something on the horizon), betters your mood and clears your mind.

Running is that good AND more.

I just can't deal with the fear of people seeing me sweat and pant. I'd need to run next to a busy road and in the middle of the town with everyone looking, and because it's relatively small town I meet them everyday. I know I will never make it. And walking isn't as effective even if done more?

just wake up at 3:30 and run at 4am. It's when all people with a sense of shame exercise. Also it tends to be the coldest hour in summer/spring.

That fear will only go away if you confront it. That's just how it is.
I had that same fear. 165kg, all I could think was everyone being able to see my fat rolls and the sweat pouring through my body, staining my clothes, the smell and everyone laughing and talking about it behind my back.
Couldn't stand the sound of my heavy breathing after trying to go faster. My clothes rustling in thighs. My weight hitting the ground, each step sounding like an elephant stomping around.

But, one day, after a particular tough long run (my first 15km attempt), I looked myself in the mirror.
Covered in sweat from head to toe. Still breathing faster than normal.
            I was glistening.
            I felt awesome.

After this day, it was a switch.
Didn't feel shame anymore. The sun hitting my skin and shining to whomever came in the opposite way wasn't a worry anymore. Saying good morning to passersby didn't require a fake smile and a eye roll after they were gone, it was a genuine one. The sweat was now something that I looked forward too, as it was becoming harder and harder to achieve, since my body was now more effective at running and it had become a sign that I was working hard.

For your own sake, anon. Go do it. Pop in some music, a book, a podcast. Put it on max volume to distract your senses off of everything else. Even if it hurts your ears (don't do it for long stretches of time, 5 minutes max).
            Just run.

BTW, I'm kinda known around my neighborhood now.
I've been on this journey for a year, so pretty much everyone has seen me and my dog around.
People who I've never met have told me that they watched me go every morning and that I inspired them to started running too.
Neighbors from my street who have never talked to me before have come to say that they see me everyday, that I should keep going and that they are astounded by my willpower lmao...

Right now, I'm at 117kg. Less than a year. You can do it too.

I feel like everything is against me, headphones don't stay in my ears and the cables get in the way. I usually walk without anything, but it's a bit boring.
I wish it was easy and only the exercise wad hard

I care because I have to deal with them daily. It's not fun going to the store and see clerks and customers snickering because they saw you last evening running and stumbling around.

And I wish I could go but there is so many problems and obstacles that it's an exercise on it's own to just get out. Maybe when I have trained with those before mentioned exercises a while I have the courage to go. Also I need to buy clothes, hats, headphones and shoes first.

it's about as calorie effective as walking per hour. Jump rope is weirdly cardio intensive but doesn't burn a whole lot of calories.

Jump rope is more effective than running at burning calories per 30 minutes, studies find. You just don't know shit or don't jump rope intensively enough.

I get about 340 kcal for both /30 minutes (from my tracker). Jumping rope feel a lot harder to sustain a moderate pace on though. I'd probably fall into a less intensive range a lot easier if I wasn't tracking heart rate for jump rope.

It goes around 850-950cal/h (15-25cal/min). No idea what are you doing then. It’s one of the most efficient cardio for burning calories. Pair great with

          kettlebell swings

          as well.

How does jumping rope differ from jumping without one?

              Anonymous

If you don’t use jump rope, it only works your calves and little bit of quads/hams/glutes. If you use rope it works your upper body as well as your balance and coordination.
