20% can look really good if you're muscular enough. And it's not unhealthy per se if you're on the athletic-side and it's mostly non-visceral fat. Obviously neither apply to OP and he ought to get his shit together, I'm just saying.

This guy is right. Look at all the female psychs trying to push the autism is underdiagnosed in girls because they don't exhibit the same symptoms that boys do. I've met real autistic women, and they're exactly the same as autistic men. Not at all like the bubbly social media influencers bragging about being slightly awkward that one time and so totally being autistic.

If women want to create yet another fake disease to explain away their general inferiority, so be it. Don't fricking try to dilute autism by expanding the definion. If ball cancer involves sarcomas in the testicles and someone shows up with a tumor in their shoulder; you don't expand the definition of ball cancer; you simply classify it as a different type of cancer.

Autism is not quirkly dancing on tik tok; autism is my moronic brother smashing my car's window in because the license plate had some number that he hates on it.

He doesn't have one, because he's wrong. It's pretty well known that women are just better at masking, and so fly under the radar until they have a tism fit. My wife was one of these. She's autistic as all hell but you wouldn't know until spending over 3 hours with her. That's when she starts losing her composure and the autism rears it's head.
        >Spent 4 hours this morning trying to calm her down because the shirt she wanted to wear today doesn't match the pants she also wanted to wear today. No compromise, she's just going to be naked and uncomfortable all day instead.
        >She threw up all the food she had just ate a few days back because she found a piece of cartilage in it. Won't ever touch the food again, as this happens often. The list of foods she'll eat is dwindling.
        >Scratched herself raw because an ant was on her previously and she could still feel the itch for hours.
        >If her routine is even slightly off she will have a fit where she refuses to do anything that might upset her routine for months. Getting her to even leave the house during this time is almost impossible.
No I won't leave her. I love my autistic wife despite the... autism.

Isn't that more of an OCD issue? Everything has to compulsively go they way they want it to or else she starts going crazy. I've never really dealt with autism tho so I wouldn't know.

None of that's autism. That's OCD and anxiety disorders. Nothing you described demonstrates the abject difficulties with human interaction that characterize autism spectrum disorders.

The best way to actually diagnose it is through observation of autistic behaviors, not like the ones you reported here, having trained professionals attempt to interact with them, and finally reported medical history of development in the first three years of life. There's a huge number of actions manifested then that autistic children do and normal children do not, and the presence of multiple behaviors of this type are a great standard.

You're so gay. People can reach conclusions intuitively without some bullshit study that is probably fake anyway. Critical thinking and anecdotal evidence are unironically the most reliable set of tools that we have as humans.

It probably is a good idea to test intuitions rigorously when possible, but it's also important to realize most of life involves making decisions on the basis of things for which hard empirical evidence will be tangential, if it exists at all.

If a question can be answered empirically it's probably worth looking for evidence testing that, but an absence of evidence should not be taken as an evidence of absence.

              Anonymous

the vast majority of science is based on empirical evidence, even out-there bullshit like high particle physics for whom the model was first described decades ago and billions were needed for sufficiently advanced machinery to test it (the field is dead btw)
the actual issue with science is that the incentives are wildly misaligned in academia, so even in 'hard' sciences you're lucky to hit 70% reproducibility rate, and even when the study is legit the outcome is being blown up as much as humanly possible because if it doesn't look like a minor breakthrough say goodbye to your funding. non-rigorous fields like psych are an order of magnitude worse; you don't have the data, you can't even try to reproduce it meaningfully, a good bit of it is made up outright, endemic cargo cult science, I could go on
add to it how science must bend to politics (like muh covid where that homosexual fauci did more damage to scientific credibility in two months than anyone in living memory, because apparently lying is fine when it's for the Greater Good(tm) ) and you've got a right mess of a topic
