Is swimming for cardio a meme?

Is swimming for cardio a meme?
I breast-swim 1km over 30 minutes and I wasnt out of breath at all compared with just running for 5 minutes where I can barely breath afterwards.

Breastswimming is a mainly upper body exercise
Running is a mainly lower body exercise
A runner will quickly be out of breath if he breastswims for speed for the first time too
Ideally you do both like on a treadmill, but all in all it depends on your goal. If you just do it for health/heart rate, do what you enjoy

Breast stroke is the least aerobically intensive stroke. Recommend freestyle if you want to work cardio

I have an old shoulder injury and these days with rehabbing it's almost never a problem- just sore after OHP/Bench
    >BUT
Swimming lights that fricker up like you wouldn't believe. Does this mean I should avoid swimming, or will swimming at low intensity help heal that shoulder / strengthen the muscles that are fricked?
