why not do deadlifts and OHPs with appropriate weights for each? seems like the OHP would bottleneck your maximum weight here

This is a power lean not a deadlift. It's about power production. You can actually consider the deadlift to be an accessory to this lift.

What he's asking is why do powercleans, in which you're limiting the weight you can use because you need to both lift it and hoist it overhead, when you could do deadlifts at a heavier weight and OHP and a much lighter weight.

why would i wanna do 1/3 of a good lift?

          Anonymous

You don't jerk the weight overhead in a power clean. That's why it's just a power clean, not a power clean and jerk

yeah. It is biomechanically more efficient for most people. Much lower risk of back injury, you can lift more weight, hits your legs much more than standard.

Reduced range of motion does not matter for required force production for sumo deadlifts. Reason people lift more sumo is increased force production through increased quadriceps involvement.
Hardest part for (straight back) deadlifts is off the floor, so reduced range of motion doesn't help to make it easier.

        >sumo dl

        Actually it's adductor dominant.

You generally aren't running out of steam during a deadlift, so your best lift is generally whatever the most force you can apply off the floor.

Thats how it works for me any way, anything i can get moving i can lock out.

          >Reason people lift more sumo is increased force production through increased quadriceps involvement

More quad less back and whos quads r stronger then back? Youre substituting a weakrr muscle? so really bro I reckon its becuz you're doing the slipts and pulling the bar 4 inches of the floor haha. Sumo is more of an acrobatic movement so unless you can provode a source that sumo uses has as much back involvement the deadlifts maybe you should sit back down on ur dildo. Even if ypu could provide the ((science)) its still a partial rom

          >Hardest part for (straight back) deadlifts is off the floor, so reduced range of motion doesn't help to make it easier

How do you get from a to b bro where tf is the logic here lmao. Please dont post 2015 boomer greg bro. Sumos ez of the floor hardist at lockout. Personally i struggle at lockout and i deadlift, so what? Its still a partial lmao grasping at straws here haha cringe

Cringe. defindending the dyels lift of choice lmao. Literally. Lift of the choice for women and smol coping bois lool GIVE UP. And no matter what eveidence or reasoning you give its the lift for women and fags and that cannot be undone. Let that just sink in

Sumo strains the spinal erectors less, yes. But they only act as stabilizers, they don't move the weight, and they don't affect hip and knee extension demands.

Conventional and sumo are both hardest off the floor. Hip extension demands are the same. If a deadlift is hard for you to lockout you most likely round your back, although a weak grip or technique issues are possible too.

You shouldn’t catch it in your hands like that. It is supposed to land straight onto your shoulders with your hands just supporting it. A guy in my high school broke both wrists at once trying to catch it in OHP position like that.

You're not flexible enough. You should be catching the bar at the same level as your starting position with your upper arms parallel to the ground. Stretch A LOT. Ass to grass front squats will help you with your form. You should be catching the bar at the bottom of a front squat.

you rock back onto your heels in the pull, feet should be flat on the ground until the extension. you're ripping the bar off the floor then slowing down once it gets past your knees. instead, pull slowly off the ground and gradually accelerate through the top of the pull. keep the bar closer to your body, you can see it swings way out in front. also think about flipping your elbows up as fast as possible when receiving the bar in the front rack. right now you're having to lean back a lot to keep the bar from falling off your chest. it should rest on your shoulders, not your wrists.

Opposite way around. Training deadlifts tends to not make you that big looking, except for your ass and thighs, making you maintain your so-called "dyel" physique. Of course, none of this matters to sigma males who just do what they feel like.
