let's see: >uncomfortable, which limits strength >hard to balance, which limits strength >takes ages to set up, all the while the dumbells are fatiguing your grip >limited range of motion because your knee just hits the ground
yeah not bad but i'd say there are a few better ones. i'd only use it if other exercises went stale and i really needed a novel stimulus.
>hard to balance, which limits strength
this is probably the most relevant point which everyone got assblasted about
if your body is unstable you're unable to exert maximal force
it literally knows you're wonky so your muscles won't be firing 100%
I did these near some gym qt3.14 once and 5 minutes after I left she was doing them too. Maybe she planned it all along but I want to believe I inspired a thot that day.
Squat for sub 6 reps, RDL for 8-10, BSS for 10-12 and then slow eccentric machine leg curls for 12-16 is such a god tier leg day, 3 or 4 sets each exercise
It’s too hard. I nearly always pass out and I don’t like the doms. I stick with leg press
That's when you persevere and keep going. Do your them after your leg press sets.
>I prefer a machine with a fixed range of motion that forces me to use a fraction of the total muscles compared to free weights

ages to set up, all the while the dumbells are fatiguing your grip
moron what the fuck are you talking about?
, which limits strength
stabilisator muscles weak. bad balance
>>hard to balance, which limits strength
see first point
ages to set up, all the while the dumbells are fatiguing your grip
kek
range of motion because your knee just hits the ground
its all the range you need
>yeah not bad but i'd say there are a few better ones. i'd only use it if other exercises went stale and i really needed a novel stimulus.
no comment
>stabilisator muscles weak. bad balance
Do you tense your core for the balance or keep it loose so stabilizers pick up the slack?
never thought about it - have to focus on this next time. i just know the more often you do them the better your balance gets.
>limited rom
Are you using a bench made for midgets?
Once your Deadlift goes over 100kg you can buy some lifting straps which can be used on exercises with heavy dumbells too
>fatiguing your grip
You sound like the nerd who knows the perfect technique for every lift but weighs 80 pounds and is also a gay
>fagiguing your grip
You gotta be trolling, good job on the (you)s
That’s good stuff for mtb or moto racing.

I just recently started doing them on a belt squat machine.
Used to do them years ago with an ssb bar.
I do this at home with a weighted backpack while holding dumbells and the setup is a pain but it really does hit a lot of the lower body
Way to draw out the baby back bitches OP. If you don't like this exercise bc it's too hard or uncomfortable, you are a confirmed pussy.

I've been doing just split squats and I get out of breath far before my muscles actually fatigue, they're such a hard exercise
I prefer smith machine for this exercise - it makes it so the limiting factor is strength, not balance.

Doing these gives my tunnel vision around my 3rd set
By far the most brutal exercise out there imo
any particular reason to do these over dumbell lunges?
No. They were actually intended to be done with heavy weight for Olympic weight lifters as an isolation.
Love doing these with a barbell.
Bulgarians and squats is all you need for quads
