What level of development are you at? A complete beginner to lifting weights may not be able to safely use implements.

Lol, not him but get your lifts and bodyweight to at least advanced tier before attempting any strongman, what's your height

Why does it make sense to delay skill development?

You still have beginner gains to make if you finish SS. Skill doesn't matter when the implements are too heavy and you aren't even at baseline strength to train them. You should finish SS and then do the four day Texas method split to completion and then join a strongman club where they will guide your programming.

Because you don't have the strength development to put up weight of any significance, If you don't have at least advanced strength like 90kg OHP/140kg bench/180kg squat/200kg deadlift you'll still be making baseline strength gains in an inefficient way when you should just be learning how to lift the different objects. says you should just continue SS if you haven't capped out newb gains which I suspect you haven't cuz unless you have really light bones you are like 10% body fat or less then you should run the Texas method since you don't seem to care about aesthetics

Just find a strongman gym, or a novice comp somewhere. Bunch of top guys started out just by doing lots of comps when they didn't have equipment.

Starting Strongman (Kalle Beck) or Cube Method for Strongman both work for beginners.

Same as a beginner powerlifting program but do ohp as well, lots of people spend way to much time focusing on events and forget that you need to be strong first.

    Squats
    Deadlifts
    Overhead dumbbell presses
    Overhead presses
    Zercher deadlifts
    Front squats
    Farmer carries

It's hard to get into strongman training without any of the implements though. Nothing exactly mimics log or yoke or atlas stones. Also you'll be pretty much completely neglecting chest so you'll look like shit unless you're roiding which if you want to compete at all you'll have to be.

I don't care about competing; I just want to be strong in unique ways instead of over being strong in a 1 inch bench press or wide stance sumo deadlift

Why not just do a normal rom bench press and normal rom squat

Those are still just two exercise. I want to be able to carry odd objects, to press odd objects, to train both max strength and endurance

Breddy sure the beginner strongman program is realising you are stronger than everyone at your gym as an untrained teenager.

farmer carries and zercher and regular deadlifts will be your main lifts if you're in a regular gym.
there's one strongman at my gym and he's a badass. does a lot of his work with the log bar or yoke, which we have at our gym. everything else seems like accessory to the work he does with these. it's fun to watch.
