You know those things call pushups? Where you put your weight on both arms and work your triceps? Imagine that, but all that weight on one arm. Mind blowing, I know.
he asked if there's an advantage to it. it's fair question in my opinion. is it any more efficient that doing both at the same time? after all you'll have to do twice as many one-handed pushups to work out both arms and they take longer to begin with.

They're great for athletes because they train anti-rotation. They also build the shit out of your triceps and delts. Biggest triceps I've seen has been on a pushup specialist who loved doing deficit one armed pushups
one arm pushups are an anti rotation movement,in order for you to perform the movement for reps your obliques and abs will have to hold you in place so your waist doesn't twist, along with training the body to perform new movements with only one limb. increasing it's adaption to imposed demands.
Finally some good fucking answers
Everyone ITT is retarded having all the weight on one arm obviously changes the movement in a significant way, and no it doesn't become twice as heavy with one hand since your body uses your strength more efficiently when using both

the obliques serve two functions,to assist in twisting the core,or when under pressure to prevent the core from twisting,if you're able to perform a one arm pushup that means your core(obliques) are rigid and conditioned enough to prevent your body from twisting, and thus throwing you to the ground as soon as you try one rep.

it's like doubling the load on that one arm, also more core is involved in stabilizing, so it's more of a core workout than regular push ups

How dare you speak that way to the Prince of all Saiyans

I forget this board is full of autists.
>Yes, you work your muscles twice as hard and will make gains
Incase anyone couldn't figure that out.
>he
Nice one OP
yes
yes
suck a dick
You have to deal with the rotational forces on one arm so it's better core work
I imagine that it'd focus tension on one arm. The trick becomes keeping it even. It would suck to do 10 pushups on one while only 7 on the other

they're probably saying this because they themselves haven't ever done a one arm pushup kek

I know what abs do, it just sounds like you are trying to use buzzwords to make it sound fancier than it is.

Yes, modified pushups work your muscles harder, they are the natural choice after pushups become too easy for you.
Diamond pushups, clapping pushups, one-handed pushups, just ways to make it harder and therefore make better gains.
This is honestly how I approach life.
If things are too easy, I take on a new challenge, because I never want to grow soft. Just want to stay hard.
If you had to pick between only chin ups/pull ups or pushups, what's your choice?

probably way better for injuring your elbow and shoulders.
I feel it more in my lower core and adductors than my arm and chest.
Also feels like I'm about to burst an artery in my brain doing them
