Is there any reason to buy collagen supplements?

It gets broken down into the amino acids as any other protein source.
Why not just get more overall protein from like whey instead of buying another supplement?

Supplements are bullshit yes. If you have to ask why you need a supplement, you don't need it.

zinc, vitamin d, and magnesium are not bullshit. creatine has scientific backing to it even if it makes you bald. collagen has shown to be able to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. besides that, yeah, supplements are laregely bullshit, unless their in a pure powder form

How does creatine make you bald specifically? What's the mechanism?

Creatine affects DHT levels which are directly correlated to hair follicles in men.

so it's just the same problem men with hair loss genetics already have then

Essentially, it’s only really an issue if your already predisposed to balding

Collagen is also good for connective tissue and tendon health, but its infinitely more beneficial to eat high collagen and gelatin foods, like bone broth etc. I can see a collagen supplement used in vegetarian cases

It's a different type of protein.

      >stay being moronic, don't find out anything
This is an INCREDIBLY stupid comment no matter what your view. There are new possibilities for supplements all the time and not everyone is aware of them all.

It usually comes pre-packaged with a b-vitamin suite at Costco, and it's very taste neutral, so I tend to buy a bunch of it for adding to drinking soups and smoothies.

I’ve been eating pork rinds daily for their collagen content. Less than a cup, no more. No added oils or sugar, mildly filling, plus I can buy them with food stamps.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

What a moronic question. Are you aware of the fact that there are 20 amino acids and the concentration of each of the 20 has incredible variance depending on the protein source? And that this unique amino acid profile has unique effects on the body? Do you even know what an amino acid is?
Ray peat is gone for three weeks and everyone becomes moronic. Jesus Christ.

Calm down buddy. Why would you expect a random person on IST to know what an amino acid is and say "Jesus Christ" if they don't? Like what is it to you if he doesn't know what it means? It's a random person.
