      Elisha Long on YouTube

No. He is just a grifter like all of the self help gurus.

      Why do you think that?

I really want to meet a "self improvement guru" in person. What kind of life does one talks about this self improvement
      discord and youtube actually lead?

This "self improvement" dude is one of the very few who seems authentic. Not grifting anything, not getting involved in drama and clickbait for clicks. He is doing it for years now and still pretty low-profie in what he does. I never had the impression that he is trying to build some big business out of this.

To be fair, he has a Discord for which he charges 20 dollars a month, but it seems to be fairly easy to get free lifetime access if you stay active and complete some "challeges", still leaves kind of a sour taste imo

This is not grifting in my books.
He is not trying to sell you some ridiculously overpriced ebooks, courses, coaching and "war room" memberships. He's not shilling for overpriced useless supplements or diet and workout plans. I looked at Youtube and he is doing his Youtube thing for 7 years now. Like I said, this dude had every opportunity to turn into your typical "self help manosphere red pill" grifter, like so many others. He is not an idiot and I'm sure he could have grown his channel to a full time succesful business.

I tried out the server and there's some good parts but for the most part it's just a circlejerk for the long time members and is somewhat hostile to new guys. Challenges don't happen often enough anymore and most don't result in XP. Honestly the discord server put me off him, it sounds like this great brotherhood from his videos until you actually join it

Can you tell a little more about your experience on the Discord? Are the people really trying to help you or do they just get off from feeling superior to the newbies?

The problem with ALL these online communities is that...
              >they tend to be too large in scale to be useful on the long run (good for newbies, waste of time for old guys)
              >it becomes a circle jerk for the same topics over and over again
              >there is a "comfort buffer", you'll never experience the same competition/challenge behind a screen compared to a personal experience
              >with time you'll have theory gays in that community, guys that develop autistic levels of knowledge in a subject without doing the work they preach
              >especially harmful when these theory gays offer advice on a subject they believe they know

A WhatsApp group chat with maybe 3-5 guys who regurarly meet up and challenge themselves is far superiour.

Based. This was my experience exactly. The large number of people really works against the actual goal of such a group

Sure. There are definitely supportive guys there that will help assuming you ask the right things. But if you happen to be poorly socialised or behave in a way that can be mocked then you will get railed until you leave. Seen several guys mocked and negged to the point leaving, granted rightly so for a couple of them. Challanges used to run more frequently but as the server picked up members they became more infrequent and worth less XP, probably Elisha trying to stretch people's paying periods imo. Most unappealing part is the general chats are always populated with the same aforementioned circle jerk of 15 or so long time members most of whom are buttholes to new guys. Ymmv but some of these "alpha" posturing guys act like straight b***hes with all the drama

Sure as frick isn't worth the $20 but the old $5 price was ok. I got over half way to lvl 80 before I had enough

Thanks for your insight. Kinda shocked that he increased the price from 5 to 20 bucks, sounds kinda greedy to me. I think I will try this thing for a month because frick it I dont have better use for 20 dollars right now anyways. Maybe I will at least get a few laughts at some of those pseudo-intellectuals for my money.

Yeah man that really shocked me too but good luck. I mostly focused on the downsides that made it not worth the money for me but its not all bad, there are good people in there

From what I can tell he mostly seems to practice what he preaches: reading, martial arts and lifting. Could of course be just a show but why be so needlessly cynical?

My skepticism comes from personal experience. At some point you need to stop thinking and talking about self improvement and just do it.

Haven't seen his face in a while but that stache 100% confirms he is gay. If you follow his advice then you too are gay. There is nothing wrong with this as you will be better than most normies, but you will torture yourself if you try to deny it.

Check em and witness my truths.

Manosphere is really gay. Fitness youtube is really gay outside of established record holders and pros. So if whoever that guy is extremely moronic and giving second hand info he got from other people then yes he is in competition for most popular manthot youtube jobless bum.

This guy is the most pathetic one of them all.
I first saw his videos in like 2016 and he was as tryhard back then. He has zero fricking charisma and is super autistic, doesn't know how to grow a channel or appeal to an audience. Total moron.
