Having used this, you definitely won't develop mass, but you could definitely go ottermode... It is really lacking in upper body exercises, but add in some pushups and pullups, you're golden.
It's not really cardio, it's more like pilates + yoga + light strength training + huge amounts of body weight squats. I would call it more of a weightlifting product than a cardio one by far.
A lot of the "visibly fit" people here can't do a bunch of the yoga poses in this game.
I recommend the game extremely highly for casual fitness fun and it can really be meaningful, honestly. Squatting a lot is one of the best things you can do to start getting in shape and the game encourages it heavily. It's a fun RPG on top of everything else.
I went back to Stepmania (on the dancing mat), I do 30 songs daily. It's the perfect cardio.
Sometimes I'll also borrow Oculus from my brother. Beat Saber is a nice upper body warmup before lifting.
If you are sedentary, yes. I played it almost everyday for about a year, then stopped, ironically because I now just run and lift. I still break it out occasionally on rest days. It's just basic body weight exercises and jogging in place.
It's actually not bad... There is a guy on YouTube that lost 60 pounds by using it exclusively.
Found the video... There are updates every couple months for a year on his channel:
i have it. the workouts are repetitive but pretty fucking exhausting
This is what most pro bodybuilders use, obviously split with the cohort that prefer Wii Fit

what if you use this for cardio and just use weights for gaining mass?
Yeah absolutely... It is definitely good for burning a few hundred calories a day, a little flexibility, and a little toning.
I do pushups instead of planks sometimes
I wouldn't consider it cardio, but it's one of the best NEATs out there

I just need a cardio replacement to doing shit like jogging or running.
I mean, you can just do body weight squats in place if you want.
i recommend it, you'll probably enjoy it more than you think.
