This, and lifting beginners can be some of the biggest consumers. Check the packaging of any protein bar if you want. You'll find an essay list of ingredients, most of whom are sweeteners and vegetable fats along with ꜱoy protein.
Yes they are
They're not ment to be satiating. They're just a supplement for protein, but people assume it's a mini meal replacement. The same goes for protein powder.
As far as I'm considered this should be a snack and nothing more. It's better than chips or Hershey's by a mile, but you still need to eat real food.
>im competing at olympia and also make money from modelling and movies so i NEED to spend 70$ per month on onions protein bars! >onions protein costs like 50 cent per pound to produce >"what do you mean i cant afford a house or a car?"
It's just another product for people to consume to feel like they're fit rather than actually being fit. >Working out is so expensive. You have to buy new workout socks, shorts, a workout top, shoes, anti-sweat underwear, protein powder, creatine, all kinds of supplements, a gym membership, personal training, new body spray, a gym bag, gloves, fitness tracker, heart rate monitor, resistance bands, yoga mat, dumbbells, kettlebells, weightlifting belt, foam roller, exercise ball, jump rope, hydration belt, sports drink, energy bars, recovery shakes, compression socks, fitness magazine subscriptions, food scale, fitness app or tracker, water bottle, measuring cups and spoons, blender, meal prep container, pedometer or step tracker, resistance band, heart rate monitor, etc.
There are unironically people that think you need to purchase your way into fitness rather than it being the default state of being that costs almost 0 money. This is the default way of thinking for most Americans. >pic rel is the average american
Do people really? I mean, yeah you need shorts and shoes, but are there really people who don't know that the rest of that shit is extraneous/free? Sometimes, with how bad this board can be, I forget it's one of the better places to learn/discuss fitness, God help us.
>Do people really?
Yes, people really. The American consumerist mindset is one of being able to purchase a solution to whatever you have an issue with. There is a gigantic industry of selling people on the hopes of getting fit. That's how shit like diet pills is still around. They bank on the consumerism mindset. Potential trainees also use consumerism as a way to avoid actually having to do things by constantly postponing their workout life with people thinking things like, "I can't exercise until I get a bosu ball and I won't have enough money for that until 2 weeks from now, so I might as well not even start." It's just constantly shifting the goalpost until you're a 45 year old dyel that started collecting fitness equipment 2 years ago and you've never even done an overhead press despite having a full power rack and olympic weight setup in your own garage. Then they need to do all the research to see if they're accidentally doing movements wrong because they want to do everything perfectly so they're not wasting their time.
They also buy into the idea of purchasing a new identity. There are untold numbers of women that go to a class once or twice per week or per month, doing movements that don't produce any results so they can be seen in their workout clothing and they have something to post on their instagram so they can be perceived as being fit rather than by having to do the really hard work to be fit. They want to be a part of the cool kids club because they don't really want to be fit, they want to be loved, accepted, and viewed as attractive.
Sorry for writing ~1700 words, but I feel like it needs to be said
they make me shit myself. good as candy tho, i like the dusty texture and whey background flavor they have. i havent eaten one in like a year because as other anons say, they are a scam for retards
This is what fit people eat instead of a usual candy bar when they have sweet tooth. Are they healthy? Hell no. Are they a better alternative? Definitely.
These protein bars turned me gay, very effective, I love cock
They’re a last resort to hit your protein goal IMO. To feel full I drink water or caffeine or something
You'd be Better drinking your shaker than no?
>What are they good for?
Convincing Americans they can eat literal candy bars and still be "healthy".

Sugar alcohols do that
it's not supposed to make you full, retard
it exists so you hit your protein goals easier, you fat slob
They're good at helping retards "reach their macros" whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean.
I hated protein bars too. then I ate barebells cookies and cream and the rest is history
>im competing at olympia and also make money from modelling and movies so i NEED to spend 70$ per month on onions protein bars!
>onions protein costs like 50 cent per pound to produce
>"what do you mean i cant afford a house or a car?"
why the fuck would an olympia competitor spend $70 on >protein bars (peanut based protein btw)
Not my problem
>What are they good for?
Capturing the disposable income of stupid and misguided young men.
It's just another product for people to consume to feel like they're fit rather than actually being fit.
