        Weighted crunch 3x20
        Dumbbell side bend 3x12
        Hanging leg rises 3x12
        Ab wheel 3x8

This is what I do on Fridays. It's poor tho

How the frick do you progressively overload the ab wheel and leg raises? This is why I hate ab workouts

Also isn't the only point of ab workouts to make them appear at higher bf? If you just go on a solid cut then what's the point

            >then what's the point
What's the point of stronger muscles? Is that what you're asking?

A stronger core helps the rest of your lifts. Larger muscles are more easily seen, so you can still see them at a slightly higher body fat %.

            >How the frick do you progressively overload the ab wheel and leg raises?
For ab wheel by doing more reps, for leg raises I use ankle weights

Change your angle and position. Start kneeling rolling uphill, then neutral, then downhill. After you can do those, try rolling without kneeling

You progressively overload by banging fatter and fatter whale women. The fatter they are, the more effort to have sex and the less attractive they are, so you really have to pound them hard and fast to get off. Architects are just abdominal enthusiasts of the highest order.

Just throw in some abs almost everyday you train. Superset an accessory lift with ab work and you don't spend any more time in the gym while also training abs.

Exercise is an important aspect of overall health and fitness, and training the abs can be a beneficial addition to a well-rounded exercise routine. However, it's important to understand that training your abs alone will not necessarily lead to a visible six-pack.

The appearance of a visible six-pack is largely determined by body fat levels. If you have a higher body fat percentage, it will be more difficult to see your abs, regardless of how strong they are. In order to see your abs, you will need to decrease your body fat percentage by losing weight through a combination of diet and exercise.

It's also important to note that the abs are just one small muscle group in the body and it's important to balance your training with exercises for other muscle groups. Cardio exercises, like running, cycling, swimming, and HIIT, are important for overall health and fitness and also to burn calories, strength training for all muscle group, including legs, arms, back and core will balance your body muscle and make it more functional.

In conclusion, training your abs can be beneficial as part of a well-rounded exercise routine, but it's important to remember that it is not the only or most important thing to achieve a visible six-pack.

I've on and off done abs training, like really going at it, doing 5-6 different workouts to target it, while being low bodyweight, and I've never seen anything resembling an ab. It's probably still helpful in some way, but I've never noticed a difference in my other lifts from when I've done them and haven't done them, so for the past few years I just haven't done any ab work

People don't train abs in part because they've got an 'all or nothing' mentality. You do realize you can do one really hard slow set of ab work for 8-12 reps to failure & get the vast majority of the benefit

It's definitely not a waste of time.
I fell for the "you don't have to train abs meme"
The truth is all of the little stabilizer muscles in your core are very important for keeping your posture and back health.
If you aren't fat, and don't have abs/Adonis belt, you need to be hitting core more. Looking good is a big plus but the most important reason is for your back health. You've only got the one and it's got to last you in your 80s and 90s.
Not just you abs but obliques, erectors and hip flexors.

Nah. Just superset them with accessory exercises.

If you want to display abs, direct ab work will make abs look better.
If you don't want to display abs and just go full permabulk powerlifter, even then core might be a sticking point in lifts. It's not necessary for a rank amateur, but once you're putting up good numbers on the bar it's not a thing to ignore entirely.

More importantly how does one properly train lower abdominals? Even in the OPs pic, the guy has weak lower abs. Why are they so hard to target?
