it is supppsed to be rear delt/mid trap exercise. you need wider grip and aim to upper chest. for lats barbell row is mostly useless. Kroc rows and similar style rows are good tho.

I could only do 8 pull-ups at 170lbs(with clothes), after not doing pull-ups for 5?months only Pendlay rows I can do 8 pull-ups at 200lbs(with clothes), so yeah they work
Pendlay rows are the only rows I like. I fricking hate having my lower back support the weight for the entire set, and my form and rom breaks down too easily on other variations. Chin Ups are still the best though.

Do Pendlay rows instead. Back parallel to the floor, bar starting each rep from a dead stop on the ground. Go heavy, no bouncing or jerking.

With clothes is a weighted pull-up. Makes it 10 times harder.
Yet another exercise that is mechanically superb except you can never do it properly because of the limiting muscles.

I enjoy them too. Makes people mad as frick when the bumpers hit the ground because I am taller and drop them 2-3 inches from the floor.
