It's so freaking hard to lose weight. I eat way less and walk everyday but nothing changes.

Start doing OMAD and quit the sugary drinks. Type up calorie calculator on Google, click the first link and put in your info accurately. After that it'll give you the calories you need to eat to lose 1 pound or 2 pounds a week. Follow it religiously, and you'll lose weight in no time.

It's mostly genetics. I eat like a fricking hog everyday and still manage to barely be 50kg

You must be very young and an ectomorph; that or you're vastly overexaggerating about how much you eat. Most people who are skinny just eat less.

The walking is good, but it is important to be doing it right if you want to lose weight. You need to be walking at a brisk enough pace to elevate your heart rate to Low Intensity Steady State fat burning levels. You cannot just causally stroll, you need to walk fairly quickly to reach 50-65% of your max heart rate and keep that up for 30-60 minutes.

You will also want to introduce resistance workouts in there. Muscle burns fat. Period. You need to be doing it. And make sure your diet is consisting primarily of protein and vegetables. Carbs should really only be about filtering a workout. And just keep it up. Sustained weight loss takes time. You want to take maybe 5-8lbs off a month at most. If you drop weight crazy quickly the body essentially wants to rebound back because it thinks something is wrong and is trying keep you alive and get you back to your typical weight. Good luck.

Should say fueling a workout, not filtering. Stupid autocorrect.

its literally 1 formula guy just be patient. if u cant then take semaglutide or stims or smth. wont matter anyways noone cares and wont bring u much personal fulfillment even if ur anorexic plus even being overweight isnt that unhealthy unless ur borderline obese.

learn to count calories and aim for 1000 to 1500 calories a day, no longer eat sugar or seed oil

    >walk
run, walking barely burns anything, you need to run a mile to lose 100 calories, once you are used to running you will eat up the miles

ingesting nutrients is a primary biological urge, it is difficult, but your body gets used to it, it gets used to converting energy from fat and carbohydrates instead of raw sugar, it gets used to a plate of beans with freshly chopped seasonings and spices, it starts telling you it wants a fruit and is content with an apple rather than a candy bar, and you are human, you have willpower, next time you are shopping, skip the candy aisle

brisk walks burn about as much as runs over the same distance, but theyre a lot easier to do when in a deficit especially if u arent very fit. if u run in a deficit u get crazy tired.

        >brisk walks burn about as much as runs over the same distance
I don't know anything about the science behind weight loss but how is this true? Why does anyone bother jogging at all when they could just walk quickly and be less tired doing it if it's all the same? I really want this to be true because I love walking but hate running.

It's because the energy required to travel a distance is the same. Calories are energy. The benefit of running is that you 1. Get way more fit 2. Can travel more distance in less time

Sometimes I wonder why I should bother putting effort into losing weight when there are people who stay skinny without doing anything. Why should I cut out everything I love and tire myself out daily when there are people who have never seen a vegetable yet are still half my size? It's no fair that I have to put in 10x the work to get to a decent weight when others just eat whatever junk they want and sit around all day yet still never gain a pound. I'm not gonna suffer to achieve a body that other people get just by genetics.

Still, the fact that I gained weight in the first place when others have lifestyles worse than mine yet are still thin is unfair and I don't see a point in suffering to achieve something that others have never even had to think about.

Just give up. I've done the same. Being sedentary and obese for years means I have no way of recovery, and even if I did it's practically impossible and too hard to get back in shape. Blame whoever created these flawed bodies to be so hard to maintain, not yourself.

I have the opposite problem. I just don't like eating or I'm too lazy to make myself food until I'm very hungry

      >i eat way less
have you considered not eating at all?

as a skinny person, i used to hate fat people, but then i got put on some medications that gave me a big appetite along with decreased metabolism and weight gain
after gaining like 20-25 lbs super fast i was like 'woah i should eat less' and so i did and stopped gaining weight
it gave me a little bit more empathy towards fat people, however, it is still avoidable

This. Fasting is the best way. Initially, fast for 16 hours and your end goal should be 3 days fast.

    Don't eat bread.
    Don't eat sugars.
    Don't drink anything but water.
Eat once a day in small rations to get your necessary calories and nutrients.
Fast for the rest of the day. No food of any kind, just water.

You'll lose 35 kilos in under 3 months like me. I didn't work out at all. Just adhered to this and it changed my life forever. If I can do it, fat frick who ate like a total pig, anyone can. Fricking anyone. You can do it. The feeling of looking at yourself in the mirror and feeling like you're changing/transforming is invaluable.

are you actually tracking your calories or are you just winging it? It's possible you might be underestimating your intake. I reccomend using an app to track things. I personally keep a food journal that I write in to keep track of my goals and progress, and I have a small food scale so I know my portions are accurate rather than guessing (the more you use a food scale the better you get at eyeballing too so it's useful even when you are out and about/ end up at an obligatory food related event. It also might be a good idea to gradually introduce more strength training so you get more toned as you lose the weight so you avoid being skinnyfat. You probably also want to incorporate some light jogging into your walks, even if its just a minute or two of it at first, to get your heart rate up and get the most out of your walks. I wish you luck though anon

How did people in the premodern times stay fit without keeping track of everything they ate? Do we overestimate their levels of fitness or are modern humans just way more prone to becoming unhealthy simply from just eating normally because of how food is made now?

A combination of both. Office jobs and other activities that involve sitting in one place for extended periods of time weren't really a thing, and food didn't have added sugars and fats and shit.

I suppose that's why being fat in medieval times was a sign of affluence. Means did you didn't have to do manual work like a peasant.

total amount of food ive eaten today:
    >handful of cashews
    >some raisins
    >like 2 slices of cheese
    >bowl of cereal
    >a couple of mouthfuls of doritos
    >like half of a gatorade
    >water
this is since 10 am and it is now 5 pm, i will have dinner shortly
and usually i have a small lunch as well but i was busy so you can add a bowl of soup or a burger to this as well

i am 160 lbs and i will literally gain weight on this diet if i sprinkle in larger meals or additional snacks because i am entirely sedentary, use this as a reference point
