no way would a dumpster diving coon taste good in anything relatively cheap to make

You realize pigs are often fed garbage, right? And cattle are often fed agricultural waste/literal surplus candy.
I think it's probably a meme that animals taste like what they eat. Chicken doesn't taste like bugs either.

The whole livestock eats trash thing was just fearmongering by vegans and presumably Chinese/Russian shills.
By the way typically livestock is fed food of different grades for different meat quality, not sure how you've never heard of corned beef before.

Corned beef refers to preparation with "corns" of salt, not the diet of the animal...

It was 25p/litre (past best before)
It's great to drink and useful if SHTF
Bonus: the ham delivery driver was crying and bitching for 20 mins as he unloaded to my doorstep and was sweating bad by the time he dropped off all 180kg

Not a great trap honestly, would not buy crap from amazon

Total waste of money, would look into snares for smaller game and baited net traps for larger game

Snares are illegal in most places. I caught a squirrel in a havahart trap, so the cage traps seem to work.

        How do you dispatch them?

best/easiest non-gun way is probably to get one of those CO2 chambers they use for sodastreams, and use that to gas the animal to death in a big plastic tub with a small hole cut out at the top to vent oxygen out.

There are exceptions for powered snares here, but you can also build shed snares and traditional Indigenous traps from bushcraft.

Cage traps are functional, but just not nearly as cost efficient or useful for larger game, as squirrel and raccoon are not very valuable game. Footsnares are better for small animals, depending on your laws and regulations, not just normal wire snares, and a small animal worth trapping would be something like mink.

For larger game, cage traps are ideal and most humane, but I would not support amazon for multiple reasons:

        1. Giant evil globohomo megacorp
        2. Employs slave labor by exploiting US prison system
        3. Literally lies to and defrauds customers by advertising one product and selling cheap Chinese imitations
        4. Pumps American homes full of boxes and useless consumerist garbage that no one actually needs to buy
        5. Supporting local businesses and independent trap makers

Now what is even harder than trapping mink is being obsessively observed, track, and followed by complete online strangers, despite attempts to maintain anonymity online

Depends on what state you're in. Here Racoons are a "furbearer" game species, and you need a special trapping license that's very hard to get and coveted by all local rednecks

You gays do know that raccoons literally unironically shit out brain eating parasites that cause early onset dementia right? Virtually every coon in American is infected. You should never eat raccoon - even walking barefoot should be avoided in areas with high densities of them, you might step in shit and get infected.

    >Cottage cheese is one of the cheapest proteins
    >Canned beans, chicken, and tuna are less than a dollar for ~30g protein
    >Frozen veggies can be bought (for me, in California) for 80 cents depending on the vegetable for 4 servings and can be microwaved in bag

All of these are very low effort, inexpensive, and healthy

Eggs were cheap but they've doubled in price rip
