I've only once seen a person doing concentration curls irl. This was in 2011. The guy doing those was a strongman competitor, easily one of the biggest and strongest people in town (during the same workout he casually benched 315 for reps like it was nothing).

      lmao wtf why?

Biceps are very important muscles for many strongman events and having underdeveloped biceps is very dangerous on events like the atlas stone (high risk of tearing your biceps if they're too weak to handle the load)

Tbf briceps are a very functional muscle for just moving shit around

I didn't know these had a name and thought they were the same as any other curl just sitting down

Pretty much every variation of any exercise has a specific name, but a thing I've noticed is that you don't actually need to know the name of an exercise to perform it.

I started doing these before I do preacher curls. It really hits hard but I hate doing them. I feel like a boomer tuff guy or something when I do these and try get them over with quickly before people make fun of me

No they aren't. OP is a zoomer queer who only does cable curls. People hate on these because they can't cheat like every other curl so you can't do as much weight.

        Anonymous

They're easy to cheat on if you position your elbow on mid thigh and have an upright torso like OP picrel. The top half of that rep is mechanically advantaged.

        Mostly outdated/alternative exercises

Not sure what’s the point of preachers when weighted chin-ups or ez bar curls hit bicep better

Dumbbell flies physically do nothing for the pecs. You're literally just pretending to squeeze air together while holding dumbells in your hands, supported by your shoulder and arms not your chest. You have to use a cable machine so that the resistance is actually fighting you when you squeeze together, imitating with dumbbells is doing literally nothing. Then people swear up and down how great it is even though they're also doing:
        >incline presses
        >flat presses
        >cable crossovers
        >pushups
        >yadda yadda
Then try to say it was the dumbbell fly that worked.

Was always a fan of lying on the ground gripping your gym bro's ankles. Dragon flag up and he shoves your feet forward or to the side and keep going until you fail. Bonus points if you have a second buddy smack the shit out your stomach on each downstroke with a thai pad or foam roller.

      These are actually based though

Dumbass, db flies are for the stretch, which is more important for hypertrophy than the squeeze anyway.
