Don't think I've ever seen anybody but myself do military press.

its a standard competiton lift meaning people are too afraid to do it in front of others at gay gyms. people will bench because its low profile, but frick their shoulders up with awful form 90% of the time
unironically one of the only two times i banged a qt from gym was because i was ohping and she noooticed me and kept creeping closer and closer and gave me enough confidence to go for it kek

People don’t do it because the OHP is a redundant exercise that’s very inefficient at building the delts/upper body, fatiguing, and difficult to progress on.
Almost everything the ohp does the bench or incline bench does much better.
The ohp does not carry over very well to the bench, but the bench does carry over well to the ohp. If you are strong at the bench it’s literally impossible not to also be strong at the OHP. The exercise is basically a display of strength like the deadlift, not a builder.
All the press does is fill up space in your routine that you could otherwise be using for more benching or incline. Lateral raises work the delts more than the press could ever dream of.

Do you honestly believe flapping around a pair of dumbbells will grow bigger shoulders than pressing a heavy barbell over your head?
Also, I don't believe the rest of what you're saying about bench, because since that became the most popular lift, bodybuilders started growing physiques with huge chests but sloped shoulders. I see this physique a lot and I think it's down to overdeveloped chest and underdeveloped shoulders from benching all the time.

          Anonymous

Kek no it's a much simpler reason. Normies literally do not know how to press the barbell without hurting themselves since they lack the wrist and shoulder mobility. They just do seated db presses.

I hardly ever see anyone do pendlay rows off the floor and I love them, i can jerk more weight off the floor and be more explosive that way and cheat a little bit at the end to get past failure.

This. I've never see anyone doing Pendlay's. Normal rows are common though.

Idk why everyone thinks this is so dangerous. Doesn’t hurt my shoulders at all

      Anonymous

Its probably healthier for shoulders than normal ohp. Behind the back feels smooth and you also cant overload as much. People think using your body to its full range of motion is dangerous. As long as youre not grinding on your cartilage or using really fricked up angles all of your joints are made to be used in various angles.

            Anonymous

I mean if you're sitting down and you've got a barbell on your back and you've gotten into position, you're basically just doing a back extension at a different angle. There's no hip thrust. Isn't a good morning all about the hip thrust?

I've never done them, just know what anon is talking about. I would think they would hit hamstrings extremely hard, since they're taking them to an even more stretched position though

In my opinion, a 20 degree decline is too shallow, 45 degree is probably the best angle without going so deep that you're better off just using the cable machine or pullover machine.

I have seen precisely two other people in my gym do Zercher squats and I’ve only ever seen them do it once. The one guy was a resolutioner, but the second is a regular who casually benches 2pl8 for reps and even he did the squats with a pussy pad. I’m the only one who does Zercher shrugs though and I’ve even had a couple guys comment on them. Fricking love me Zercher shrugs.

I've done a 3.5pl8 Zercher deadlift. Also I have no idea what you mean about having to move so far forward; the bar stays close to your body the whole time.

Doing them with interlocked fingers like this seems unbelievably moronic

      Anonymous

It's kinda moronic to doing these grabbing the bar. You can buy handles in whatever configuration you want, narrow grip, wide grip, etc. which are all more comfortable than grabbing the bar. Not only that, they allow for full ROM. The only reason I see why you'd want to do it with the bar is if you want to do one armed rows.
