Natty gains are a myth, aren’t they?

Depends how strong/weak you are when you start and how much effort you put in

      >eat properly
      It's literally just this.

We're all biased from spending time on fit and other lifting/bodybuilding forums. You guys need to understand how little the average person at the gym cares or understands about building muscle. The concept of "eating big to get big" is completely lost on probably 90% of people, or they don't see any point in obsessively eating all the time.
I saw a friend of mine, the guy who introduced me to lifting in high school, for the first time in 5 years a few weeks ago. I had always considered him to be really serious about lifting because he was always in the gym. I was surprised when he told be he was still lifting 5 days a week because he looked exactly the same as he did in high school, not really any visible muscle to speak of.
We decided to grab lunch and catch up. As we talked, I started making fun of him for autistically keeping track of his lifts, and then he started making fun of me for autistically tracking what I ate. I asked him how the hell he knew how much he was eating if he didn't track calories, to which he replied with "I just eat a lot". This same guy ordered a salad for lunch and didn't even finish it. He's always been fairly skinny, and I guarantee he hasn't been eating nearly enough those past 6 years if his goal was to gain muscle. Believe me, I tried to explain this to him while we chatted, but I don't think I was getting through to him and I didn't want to push to hard and come off as rude.

Just eat at a surplus and you'll grow, it's that simple. You have to be a bit autistic about it, but that's fine, because the end goal is worth it. If you're one of those homosexuals whose first though is "but I don't want to get fat :(" I fill find you and strangle you.

This one hit a little close to home for me, I cannot force myself to eat caloric surplus no matter what. And to make thinks worse, I can hardly eat out or eat fast due to a choking incident I had several years ago. I still occasionally get panic attacks when I eat and have to get my food to go, or just stop eating. Sucks, but I try to keep track of my weight more than tracking calories

Eat fruits and nuts. You'll get fat in no time.

Assuming this isn't bait, this is kind of a blessing. It only gives you more of a reason to never touch fast food slop, and eating out is probably one of the biggest money sinks young people experience on a regular basis. I'm sure there's a lot of inconveniences that come with this, but look on the bright side.

Milk is your friend. I'm not saying do GOMAD, but you can fill up a ton of your daily calories just by drinking whole milk with you meals. 4 cups of milk a day is an easy 600 calories, and it's not hard to drink more than that if you want.

    Two things here OP:
Is your gym a hardcore or bodybuilding gym? Or just a general population, exercising for health kind of gym? There's nothing wrong with the second. Not everyone is working out to get "big".
The second thing is that, even among the people who do want to get big, most people at the gym have absolutey no idea what they're doing.

Okay so get noob gains in 2 years then go to the gym twice a week to maintain what normies think is huge and girls find attractive, what’s the problem here exactly

Everyone makes some gains in the first 1-3 years

It’s from that point onwards that nobody ever makes any noticeable changes unless they roid

Right so just lift to maintain after that, you made it to your genetic potential and can focus on other things

Yes you can bring you body to peak condition in just a year maybe even less if you want to.
What more do you want? After that point you're just training to maintain peak condition. Did you think you'll keep growing forever?

              >BUT I HAVE TO BE LE HUGE BODYBUILDER BECAUSE...WELL I JUST DO, OK?

most people "lift", in quotations as they don't actually lift. They do shitty lifts and spend most of the time looking at their phone or doing nonsense, they have no routine and don't target muscle groups well and they say they exercise "often" which really means once a week AT MOST.
