ive been lifting like every other day for about a month, i feel like my thighs are just sore non-stop in this time. is this normal for getting back into lifting after 1-2 years not lifting? is it just because im getting older (30) and not recovering as fast as i used too?

Recover is just sleep + food.
Its easier to increase food intake than sleep.
Just eat more or lift less.
Also you could do something like deadlifts when you quads are sore and squats when your hamstrings/lower back is sore

i think ive been eating fine, lots of raw milk, red meat, organ meat, and like 6-12 eggs a day and fruit mostly

You're not going to become quadzilla if you back off now OP.

Ignore this loser. Stretch and do mobility work, you should go to the gym 7 days a week but only lift for hypertrophy 6 days. This bored changed when the new batch of 19 year Olds appeared. You'll never make it because you're too obsessed with social media standing. I have rizz from years of being rejected/accepted by all types of people. I easily pull 19 y/os but I'm too holy to steal those dumb b***hes away from you guys. The real goal is pulling a plastic bimbo yoga bitcb with money from her husband, just for hot sweaty anal. I go to the gym to be better at killing people. I train for violence. I do forearms to better my shooting, I do cardio to be able to stabby stabby. The next fricking homosexual ass zoomer that refuses to let me work in with him, is getting butt fingered.

Niqqa no. Recovery is protein/fat/carb intake, deep non rem sleep, blood flow (stretching/massage), heat shock proteins promote recovery so sauna/steam room, keeping you natural test levels high, so constitent schedule and plenty of sun/thicc b***hes. Why do fricking dyels come on this board and try to boil down human biology into like 4 words. Ngmi

    It's normal.
Give your thighs some time to rest and heal. I found that massaging with coconut oil for 10-15min/day would help speed up the recovery process. Don't think age is the biggest factor here, more so that you're untrained and your body needs time to get used to it.

What's your routine when you lift every other day OP? Nothing wrong with backing off the quad volume for a bit

doing 5x5 with back squat and deadlift basically every other day, and riding the beginner gains of adding 5lbs each time to get back to where I was before I stopped lifting a while ago and also doing some short (30min) runs and also hour long rucks with 45lbs in my backpack for between 30mins-60mins a couple times a week

5x5 is too much for that imo. just run starting strength its proven to be effective on what you are trying to do. Are you doing Low bar? You might want to since it has a lot of overlap with deadlift meaning you can rise you diddly by just squatting
