Because your analysis of someone being DYEL or not is based on "mirror muscles" rather than what's used in a deadlift like glutes/hamstrings/core. It's like judging the value of calf raises by how big the person's triceps are. It doesn't make any sense.

But if a dyel can deadlift a lot, he IS strong. So deadlift is a good indicator of strength, just not a good indicator of looking strong.

You might as well look at a wrestler that weighs less than you and just assume he can't dump you on your head.
You dyels need to start competing in sports and get humbled or some shit

This kid is not a good example. You cant tell from the video but he is 6'6. Bodybuilding is a waste at that height unless youre juicing.

Kid was blessed with the right frame, muscle insertions and genetics. He has the natursl ability to try for a 700+ DL. If he did woykd most certainly not look like a beanpole

You can find dyels doing huge SBDs anywhere on the internet. The big 3 are trash for hypertrophy pretty much everyone that looks good and isn't just coasting off the muscle gains from test and tren shun these lifts. If they do it, it's like less 10% of their workout and they're not like the guy at my gym who spends 50 minutes warming up for a deadlift.

Is the hip placement not ridiculously high here? I normally have my hips quite a bit lower to the ground

He has giant monkey arms. He can use leg drive from his hips being that high. I have near the same proportions and my DL looks identical

I bench 345 and squat 405 for 4 below parallel and could maybe deadlift 405 for a difficult one. I’ve seen dyel teenagers deadlift more than my max for reps. Nobody in their right mind would claim they’re stronger than me. Deadlift is a meme lift

In a deadlift, the muscle is spread out across your whole body, so you don’t actually look much bigger.

There was a skinny guy who deadlifted 400 lbs. he now deadlifts like 800 lbs and is incredibly stacked.

Deadlift is perhaps more effected by people’s proportions/general shape as well as their form and grip than any other lift which is probably why you notice this. Someone who is very strong but is a tall lanklet with stubby arms and long legs will probably have a harder time hitting 4pl8 than someone who is weaker but has stout legs and long ass arms. Also people tend to do much better with either sumo or conventional. I can hit 415 on conventional but can only do like 385 on sumo which is opposite to what most people are like in my experience, though my theory is just that my legs are not quite up to snuff with my back

      >though my theory is just that my legs are not quite up to snuff with my back
if your sumo is weaker than your conventional, wouldn't that indicate that your back's lagging, not your legs?

Sumo stresses your legs more particularly your quads. Conventional targets your hamstrings slightly more than sumo but overall is less reliant on leg strength compared to your lower back/traps etc
