I've seen these threads before but I always appreciate the anecdotes.
Those of you who have gone from fat to IST, what life changes helped you make it?

I did fasting. Not because I think fasting is magic but because I am a retard and as soon as I sit down to eat I will eat fucking everything. But when I fast I make it a challenge of "bet you can't make it to 5pm without eating and if you don't make it you have to run 5ks"
might guy is my inspiration
huh i like that. i'm gonna try it
gonna be real man. i dont know how you fast guys do it. i just ran to the gym and back, about 3 miles, to do leg day and i felt like i was gonna pass tf out. you should have seen the struggle during my bulgarian split squats. sad state of affairs tbh
I had been very fat for a very long time. So when i was at the gym on a fast and struggling i would lift up my shirt to remind myself that im a ham planet
eat shirtless in front of a mirror
i completely forget to mention my intake for the day consisted of a cup of noodles and a clif bar ffs i still cant remember shit.
I groomed a 15 year old Colombian girl to be my wife and moved her to the us. She cooks, cleans, and is basically a sex slave. We fuck about 3 or 4 times a day. I have her trained to suck me off while I'm sleeping. Her home cooked food and constant sex is helping me lose weight. We are expecting a baby in a few months, don't know what it is. Groom a wife before society corrupts her

>> Quitting alcohol (almost) competely
>> I'vee probably had fewer than 10 units since November '21, when before that I was getting shitfaced on the daily
>> Exercise, specially cardio I enjoy (for me, mostly martial arts)
>> Ending a ten-year awful relationship and getting a fit girl
Good for you, Anon.
That’s great! Another 5 kg and you’ll probably look pretty good and be ready for a bulk.

Fasting. I did two 30 day long fasts last year. Now I fast 2 days every week. I can't do anything in moderation is my problem. Drugs or food, I will either not do them or too them constantly and too much. No inbetween.
Once I wasn't 60lbs overweight I started rock climbing and biking.
I eat no junk/fast food, no soda except Bubly and related sparkling waters with zero sweeteners. I can't. If I start again it'll be a disaster so I just don't. No cheat days.
You’re inspiring me
Extended Fasting is ez once you get over the 2nd/3rd day urges, I'm serious. Now I'm just used to it so 2 days is effortless mentally. I guess I learned at least some discipline doing this after all.
Or the fear. It can be a bit scary. Fear of the unknown.
My results inspired my 64 year old mother who struggled her entire life with weight and was the biggest skeptic of fasting to fast and then she inspired 3 of her sisters. I'm proud of that.
I lift for her.

lmao
I learned how to cook and sat down one weekend and planned what I was going to eat daily for the whole month.
I also do Intermittent Fasting most of the days but if I feel hungry I will eat something extra that will still keep me in the caloric deficit range.
Goal went from a personal goal of "don't be fat" into a spiritual goal of "be healthy"
Realizing that discipline is a skill you can practice by applying it to other areas of your life through both conscientious action AND conscientious inaction. Simple shit to start: make your bed every morning, actively decide to NOT pick up your phone to kill time on social media or IST, etc. ACTIVELY making choices like these will innately bleed over to discipline of not eating mindlessly, being able to stick to workout plans, and generally helps you stop being a slave to quick-hits of dopamine so you can actually achieve your goals.
