If he stuck to a routine and didn't eat like shit yeah it would've helped. Saved? probably not. He lifted in season one for a scene, then some cardio, then never again

You know tony is constantly lifting in his basement throughout the series right? The point of the show is that manliness is hanging with the bros, cheating on your wife, eating lots of red meat, and lifting in your basement to relieve stress.

Is crying about your horse and being abused by your mother also part of manliness?

Mourning a fine horse like his is perfectly fine. His whining about his mother was b***hy, but he's not wrong that his mother was a huge c**t

I watched this show and thought it was shit. Frick Italians and their shitty culture.
What would’ve saved Tony is not being a lardass.

Pretty much everyone agrees the pilot and season 1 in general don’t really represent the series. If you can stick with it through season 2 onward, the show does mostly live up to its reputation.

Yes, I watched all of it. Its a shitty slogfest. I hate his son especially.

Sopranos is the greatest television series of all time. Stop being so Fredophobic

True Detective, Breaking Bad, and The Wire are all better
The Sopranos is just a series of vignettes about borderline moronic and functionally illiterate WOP gangbangers being idiots
It's mildly amusing watching them behave like total pyschopaths, but it's far from being the greatest show ever

    Gandolfini or Soprano?

This was my question. Tony no, Gandolfini probably not, but it would've improved his heart health at least, making it less likely he'd have died early. Man had mental health problems and was using drugs and food to cope

If you look into James's weight gain its actually pretty tragic. David chase wanted him and the other actors (Paulie, Silvio and Christopha) to put on heaps of weight to show the downfall and stress of the Mafia. Silvio and Bobby were the only characters that noticeably put on lots of weight throughout the show. James took his commitment way too far and it cost his life. He really should've hit the gym or seen a doctor after the show concluded.

isn't just food. he was known to be a very heavy partier that went hard on the booze and coke. the producers were actually worried he was going to die during the series.

I lose respect for people that let themselves get fat
Tony starts out at the as this very athletic but 'thic' guy. Up until season 3, he is what I would consider healthy/husky. Comfortable and athletic enough to deal out what needs to be dealt.

    Then he is not.

When a person is not able to bend over without significant exertion and muscle strain, maybe you need your ass kicked. Jesus frick. One of the unspoken tenants of your position is being able to frick up those who contradict you. Difficult to uphold that when you can't even do up your shoes without having an anxiety attack because your tum tum hurts because you have 65lbs of gabagool being shoved into your lungs.

Get your shit together you fat frick.

I genuinely don't understand how people can live like this and not think there is going to be reprecuasions. Like, he's meant to be a smart dude right? So why not set aside an hour a day to work out? It can't just be pure laziness right?
