Jujimufu

What the frick happened to this YouTube channel?

A couple years ago it was filled with cool colabs with strongmen, rock climbers, gymnasts, Olympic weightlifters, powerlifters etc

Ever since the pandemic it's been nothing but bodybuilder roidtrannies training on machines and old equipped powerlifters doing squats with a 2 inch rom. Also what the frick happened to his old camera man? He was the only one with any personality in half of the videos

Tom became a model for Calvin Klein, Juji got jealous and fabricated a story of him stealing his money to kick him off the channel.

it died when his gf/wife took over the camera work and editing duty. She's just not funny. Everything she says comes off as stilted and lame. The old videos are still a treasure trove of lifting based entertainment and brotherly camaraderie, however.

Pretty sure the camera man took a bunch of their joint profits to gamble with. RIP, Tom.

this is the main issue its impossible to have the old banter with his massa behind the camera always saying cringe shit., you can tell all of jujis mannerism are completely different because his wife is around constantly, she was probably b***hing about wanting to spend more time with him or some shit.

Juji's mannerisms with Tom were really cringe, like he was always anxious about not being fun. It was fake. He seems much more confident and relaxed in the post-Tom vids.

Can't be assed looking him up on YT, but does he get the same amount of views? If he does, then it's possible that he realised can get the same revenue with much less effort.

he gets way less views these days

No, his average views have been well below 100k a video ever since Tom left. All fitness channels got chucked by the algorithm though, nobody gets millions of views like Juji did back in the day

juji made the biggest mistake of his life by getting rid of tom, and he pretty much made juji rich and famous. im sure he regrets getting rid of me since his wife can barely hold a camera.

You can only make interesting content for so long until you run out of ideas. Also this isn't the first time this channel hit a fricking drought. Remember when they did nothing but grip training for a fricking year?

They had a pretty good way of making it interesting though. Watching someone do crazy lifts is only interesting if the personality is interesting.

TLDR he traded fun lifting in his cool, rugged garage gym for optimized, soulless-machine-worked muscle mass.

His garage gym was much more cosy, his new gym looks soulless indeed.

Like I’ve been saying all year, Tom WAS the channel. It was his editing, his ideas and collabs. He did everything, all Juji had to do was act excited and lift things. When Juju israeliteed Tom out of my own company he also severed the creative aspect of the channel. His wife is annoying, his ideas now are all dull and repetitive.

Also in really poor taste that he bought a massive homegym right after stealing toms company.

tomposting aside (still probably one of my favorite youtube memes), it might have something to do with people watching less youtube content overall because we're not all stuck at home in covid lockdowns anymore
the only kind of content that gets a ton of views is 10 second shorts that can be reposted to tiktok

He kind of got hit by the algorithm change up too. Now the fitness content that will get you to the top is the Mr. Beast style fitness contest. Do 100 push ups get $100, guys like Will Tennyson, Nick Symmonds, and Jesse James West are milking this for the algorithm now.

I never liked Tom but the fact of the matter is he knows the Youtube game. He did have a big part in the success of the channel but not because he kept injecting himself in videos. I believe he did most if not all of the business side which includes organizing all the collabs, thinking of ideas and so on. I think what he didn't get is that he was indeed appreciated for his work but no one wanted to see him in front of a camera. What was so bad about that? A manager of some star isn't mad about his star being more popular than him either, he understands his role. Now Juji didn't make a mistake by getting rid of Tom but he didn't understand that just being a popular figure in the youtube / fitness world isn't enough to run a good channel, otherwise he would have hired a professional to take over Toms role. I would argue it is still not too late to do that.

Yeah honestly tom should have just been the behind the scenes guy, there's nothing wrong with that and he did a great job at it. Also being a moronic gambler is moronic obviously.

Tom siphoned money from company accounts to fund his gambling habit. He also threw a tantrum on numerous occasions because he felt like he didn't get the attention he deserved and threatened people. I think on one occasion he destroyed a hotel room.

Tom embezzled $119,459.08 by using funds directly out of the Grip Genie account without the other owner's permission while simultaneously lying and hiding it. They recently settled out of court. Background Facts: The new financial manager that Grip Genie brought on discovered by auditing their old books that Tom used Grip Genie's joint financial account to pay off $30,000 in personal tax obligation, buy an $8,000 trampoline, give personal loans to other poker players ("staking"), fund his own poker gambling via online poker websites, order food personally, buy movies personally, pay for electrician work on his own property, and a large slew of other smaller random charges. They settled on May 5th 2021 for an undisclosed amount. Tom Voluntarily left the company (grip genie) and posted an apology video on youtube, which was then promptly deleted as it likely violated the terms of the settlement. In addition to the embezzlement multiple stories of Tom's crazy violent tendencies and just "roid-rage" behavior are thoroughly documented and they want to remove him from the company. All of this I found from public record searching Boyden on the North Carolina court public record: https://ncbc.nccourts.org/public/. Jon Call (Jujimufu) is one of the plaintiffs; Tom Boyden (Tom) is the defendant. It is case #2021CVS228. View the document titled "complaint" under the docket tab of their case to see the legal filing detailing everything about the complaint for this case.

Look I'm just an observer but it seems to me that Tom earned the $119,000 he drew from the company, he probably put in more than $100,000 if you count man hours. I can't believe Juji pressed things over a measly $80,000. $50,000 is nothing compared to what I did for his channel.

Like most people he isn't entertaining, innovative, or charismatic enough to carry a channel forever. Bugenhagen is pretty much the only guy to really keep his core audience and keep growing, and even then it kind of wears thin because him intentionally being more and more ridiculous instead of just being who he used to be is kind of grating.

      Anonymous

he's pretty entertaining he just seems to have become obsessed with the whole bodybuilding thing to the point its a bigger priority than the channel. Nobody likes watching people dick around on machines for 27 minutes interrupted by a 5 minute ad for protein cereal. I just hope Juji stops after he gets his pro card otherwise he's going to end up driving his channel into the dirt.

        Anonymous

I don't think he's getting his pro card, he honestly kinda looks like shit aesthetics wise once he started upping his dosages

        Anonymous

He won't win a pro card and the old style content probably isn't coming back since I would image the reason he made the content transition in the first place was to make everything easier to consistently plan and perform. You can't really do cool, ridiculous tricking stuff and whatever else when you get so big.

Tom was a master of israeli tricks and knew how to game the algorithim. The newer videos are all really boring and the editor fricking sucks putting video game references and minecraft sound effects everywhere. It's so sleepy. Also the actual video content is worse, Juji was always most popular thru collaborations. For a long time most videos have just been boring shit in Juji's moronicly big gym.

Love going back and watching the videos from 2017 when the original garage gym was still in them.

Anyone else here ever hang out on the Tricks Tutorials forums back in the day? I actually got my first job after leaving my parents’ house at 18 from a guy I met on the TT forum. Learned how to backflip from Juji’s video in 2003 or 2004 (though I also went out and found a spotter)
