Thoughts on jump roping for cardio? I hate running and I feel like im going to get hit by a car on a bike. It seems efficient and easy to do indoors. Also improves coordination and footwork.

Mogs most other forms of cardio easily. Definitely one you can rely on
Good to know, how do I stop jumping so high to clear the rope? This girl is barely an inch up and I feel like I'm going up half a foot.
Timing, but mostly speed. The faster the rope moves the less time you need in air to clear it. Need to get your timing right otherwise you'll just keep hitting your feet.
>This girl is barely an inch up and I feel like I'm going up half a foot
She weighs literally nothing and has tons of practice.
Practice
Youtube "boxer step"
Jump from one foot to the other, not on both feet
Don't lift your feet up at all (e.g. don't skip like a little girl) just move your weight left to right to left
Aim to land just after the rope has passed under your feet
Count every rep you do before messing up and try to beat your record over and over
Less stress, more shoulder/arm activity, can do indoors (without treadmill), possibly better for calves but not sure (def not any worse)
>less stress
No, very high impact actually. Impact is good though, makes one hard
Doesn't it fuck your knees long-term?
guess i like athletic asian girls (probably very rare)
You can just jump up and down without a rope, does the same thing (cardio) without having to swing a rope around like a retard.
doesnt do much in terms of coordination and timing without a rope. it also forces you to keep good posture
Kind of gay unless you're training for a martial art. Running is better because it's higher impact, swimming is better because it's full body.
It's great fun. If you buy weighted one it's even easier because you can feel where the rope is + it's more efficient. Besides helping me with weight loss, it also helped me with my spatial awarness/balance. Used to have a big problems with it.
How does jumping rope compare to running?
>ctrl+f knees
>no matches found
explain
Mainly your ankles/toes + calves take the impact and less if you are wearing shoes.
They can take more than your knees can.
Can you really jump rope for 30+ minutes as cardio? I feel like your calves or plantar fascia would quit before your heart/lungs.
You can with proper form and a soft surface and/or cushioned shoes
There's plenty of people who fucking do this, what the fuck are you guys made out of? Plywood? Sand paper?
mogged
>white girl
she isnt mogging anything
>t.
asians have ugly af faces, no wonder the one in OP is covering it
now post remy doing it
cool now do it with weighted ropes
